The restaurant Minho picks out is nothing like Seungmin had expected.
Sure, he knew that it was fancy enough to require reservations, but the botanical aesthetic of this restaurant was beyond any of Seungmin's guesses.
The high ceilings were made of glass, like a large greenhouse, with plants crawling up the walls and huge leaves draping over corners of the space. Seungmin was absolutely shocked at the sight.
"Minho... this is," lovely, he wanted to say. Beautiful, breathtaking, magical. But none of those truly captured the beauty of the restaurant.
"Yeah," Minho agreed, looking at ease within the nature. "I've always wanted to come here, but I never had a real reason to."
Once they're seated at their table, Seungmin has to pull his eyes away from the scenery around them to glance at the menu.
Everything is relatively affordable, if not slightly pricier than some restaurants around the area, but he supposes it's worth the price for the experience.
After ordering a pasta for himself, Seungmin receives a side of bread in a unique way. "Is this... a pot?" He asks, although it's mostly rhetorical. The brown pot in front of him is hard to be perceived as anything else, but the bread inside it is so unexpected.
"I guess so." Minho says, peeking into the pot. "I guess they really stick to their theme."
Seungmin isn't even sure how to get it out, considering it sort of looks like a muffin top inside the pot, no corners or edges to grab from, so he stabs the center with his fork and starts to carve it out.
He feels silly, but it's kind of entertaining and Minho is just as focused on the task as he is, watching to see how Seungmin gets the bread out.
He's done a good job of carving a hole into it before he finally decides to start a conversation with Minho. "So, how did you find this place?"
Minho is sipping at his soup, the side he chose for his own pasta. "I was going to bring my friend here for his birthday once, but I decided to go somewhere else. He's not really into fancy places, but he does like plants and nature, so I looked into it."
"Oh," Seungmin nods, wondering if Minho brought him here because he's a bio major. Maybe he figured Seungmin liked things like that too.
"Is the bread any good?" Minho asks, finishing off his soup.
Strangely enough, it is pretty delicious, despite its simplicity, so he tells him as much.
"Good." Minho purses his lips, pushing his empty bowl a bit away from him. "So, what kind of hobbies do you have, Sky?"
This has always been a bit of a tough question for him, he battles the will to say art when someone asks. "I like reading, watching movies, listening to music, hanging out with friends." He answers, "What about you? Anything you like outside of basketball?"
"Well," Minho fixes his napkin, playing with the corner. "I like to go clubbing, though I wouldn't call that a hobby. So I guess dancing, hanging out with my friends too. Then there the cats, of course." He points out. "When I'm bored, I like to do laundry actually."
That's also unexpected, coming from Minho... he just doesn't seem like the type to do anything but socialize and stay out of his house. "Really? How come?"
Smiling sheepishly, Minho shrugs. "It's kind of therapeutic, I fold my clothes into bundles and tuck them away, then I know where they are when I need them and they're not super wrinkled. It's kind of lame, but it's easy and keeps me busy."
Seungmin nods, although he's trying to contain his amused smile. Very poorly, it seems, if Minho's sarcastic glare is anything to go by.
"You said you're from California, right? What's it like over there?" Minho asks, moving onto a different topic.
