J POV

I biked down the alley wanting to take a shortcut. needed a big ass break from everything going on so I'd consider this better therapy than those therapy sessions. I can't trust those people with my feelings. The light hit my skin after exiting the alleyway and already it was getting irritated. "I hate this weather."

Turning toward the park, I come to an immediate halt as I almost hit an ice cream cart and a family. I fell to the ground not being able to keep myself up and hissing at my arm being scraped with specks of blood puddling. "Woah there sweetie! Are you okay?", a mother gasped running up to me with her husband equally as worried. Their two kids stood there staring at me while they licked their ice cream.

"Yes, I'm sorry," I mumble standing up. A hand holding the scrape firmly so the pain isn't so painful. The woman looked at her husband and then picked up my bike.

"You should be more cautious next time son," the ice-cream man stated pointing his scooper at me.

"It's all okay, do you need to patch up?", the father asked patting my shoulder.

"No, I should be okay—"

"Daddy! Look at brother! He got an ice cream mustache," a little girl giggled tugging at the man's pants. I look down at her and her brother who had a line of chocolate liquid on his upper lip. I suddenly get a wave of memories.

"Brother! Look at my milk mustache!", Soyeon laughed placing her warm cup of milk down. I'm so glad we drink milk together when Mama and Papa are asleep and we can't sleep. I smile happily back at her until suddenly a window shattered in the living room causing her to scream. I've seen a tall man climb through the window and run to us hurriedly, harshly pushing us both against the refrigerator, and shushing our mouths by keeping a hand on Soyeon's mouth and a gun pointed at my head. I cried out of fear and stuttered under my breath as I looked up at the man who kept cussing at us to stay quiet. My hand found Soyeon's and grabbed it, holding it tightly.

"Would you like an ice cream?", the woman questioned taking me out of the recap. My breathing became unstable as I forcefully smiled and shook my head.

"I'll be okay, thank you for the offer," I respond taking my bike. I glance back at the little girl and boy one more time before waving them off and leaving in a hurry. Fuck, I hate encountering families. But this one... I take a U-turn and watched the family walking away. I abandoned my bike in the alley that I went through before encountering that ice cream cart. I followed the family sneakily not wanting them to know I was. They just looked so happy. I stare at them with saddened eyes with a frown. Tears built up in my eyes as I saw the parents on the sides of their children, holding their hands. Damn, why did I have to be the only one left alive?

"Where are your parents little one?" the man demanded to me as the gun went closer to my forehead. Tears streamed down my face and my snot was entering my mouth as I tried speaking. "Where?!" Soyeon screamed louder as she saw what happened so the man pointed the gun at her instead. "Lead me to your parents before I shoot your sister."

I wince at the memory and hide behind a lamppost pretending to just be chilling around seeing how one of the kids was looking back.

"Shut the hell up!" the man cursed pointing his gun at my Mama's head who was quietly crying. I cried louder from how my hands were strained and just the sight of my family being tied up. My Papa was beaten and it's all my fault. "Another sob from you and your mom is gone."  I yelled out a no and he actually did it, her body dropped to the ground.

I squeezed my eyes shut, walking into a man who pushed me away. Why couldn't I just shut up? Why couldn't I just shut my damn mouth! Gasping I finally open my eyes and look around seeing people staring at me like I'm crazy. I put my hoodie on and ran away, looking back to glance at the family one more time.
