A heart it never stops beating its repetitive rhythm ,a constant reminder that one is still alive. The pounding in her ears and chest were proof of that. everything seemed to have been drowned out by the blood pounding in her ears. Her chest rose with every ragged breath that managed to escape her parched throat. Her heart threatened to rip through her chest and escape its cavity. Though the room was cold, a thin layer of perspiration coated her body causing goosebumps to form. Her body was violently trembling as she stood against the wall. She pressed herself tighter against the cool surface as her knees threatened to give out.

Her left hand tightened against the piece of steel. though she had been holding for several minutes it was still ice cold. It felt like it weighted a ton as she raised a shaky hand. "I'm so sorry..." she whispered as she shakily exhaled and pressed the barrel between her teeth. The coldness of the steel caused a jolt to ripple through her jaw. The metallic taste of the steel made her stomach churn. Her heart seemed to suddenly slow down every heartbeat seemed to drag on. Her lids slowly closed causing the tears she had been suppressing to spill down her pale face. Before the sob could escape she pulled the trigger. The loud bang shattered her world as the darkness consumed her. Seventeen years of life came to an abrupt end.

Ten years later

The air was hot and dry and didn't bring relief from the heat. Eliezer let out a sigh as he leaned his head out the window. His shaggy black hair was whipped around by the dry air.

"Eliezer, put your head in please" the female in the front spoke out to him.

Eliezer slowly opened his eyes, olive green irises, turned towards the female in the passenger seat. "yes ma'am..." he muttered as he leaned his head back "Jaxon are we almost there?" Eliezer crossed his arms across his chest as he looked at the rear view mirror. Dark blue eyes stared into his green ones.

"we're here bud" Jaxon replied as he carefully pulled into the driveway.

The moving truck had beat them there, it was already driving away as they pulled up. Eliezer was the first one to step out of the black Tahoe. He winced as he felt pin pricks spread across his legs. He was 6'1 and having to sit in a car for hours was hell on his body. Skylar was the second person to come out followed by Keandra. Skylar let out a sigh as he stretched out his body and several bones cracked. Skylar was fifteen with a 5'9 wiry body, while Keandra had a more curvier frame and was several inches shorter. They both had the same auburn hair and piercing blue eyes. At first glance they looked like twins, but Eliezer knew better. Keandra was seventeen just like him, and just like him she was irritated with the heat.

Azure stepped out followed by Jaxon. They interlaced their hands and walked towards the house. Jaxon was medium built with chocolate brown hair and dark blue eyes. Azure had the same auburn hair and piercing blue eyes as her children. They were the perfect looking family and Eliezer the black sheep.

"can you please stop glaring at my mom!" Keandra snapped as she pulled her purse from the car, and shoved past him towards the house.

"sorry..." Eliezer murmured he hadn't noticed he had been glaring.

He turned towards Skylar and flashed him an apologetic smile. The boy was wearing a sleeveless black fitted t-shirt, with black and white checkered skinny jeans. Lime green socks adorned his feet, he had taken his combat boots off, a day into the trip.

"Dont worry about it" Skylar flashed him a grin as he leaned in, and pulled out his boots, and backpack. "I understand where you're coming from its okay I don't blame you...." Skylar trailed off as he slipped on his boots, and pulled his guitar case from the back. He looked up his smile was gone " I would feel the same..." Skylar spoke as he forced the small smile on his face.
