The Dementors

(an update for the 6 people who saw it, also, thank you guys for reading! i posted a tiktok abt this fanfic, and it got over 400 views! thanks. i know the chapters are small, but i'm just starting. bear with me! yours truly, -A/N)

While Y/n was reading her book, Draco Malfoy passed her compartment. He gave Y/n a dirty look, but Y/n paid no mind. She was a quiet girl, and her only friend was Luna Lovegod. But it was okay. 

She never really wanted a lot of friends. She got really nervous around groups of people, or people she didn't know. 

She had decided all together to just stop talking around people who she wasn't comfortable with.

As Y/n continued to read her book, various people passing her compartment stared at her, or just shot her dirty looks. But she still didn't care. She had learned not to a long time ago.

After about an hour of the train moving, Y/n realized she needed to go to the bathroom. So she placed her book on her seat, and left her compartment. 

As soon as she stepped foot in the aisle , the train started to slow down fast. But Y/n convinced herself it was her imagination.

 When she was walking past a compartment, she train stopped completely and Y/n fell in because the door was open.

"Ow! what the h-" Y/n had hit her head , and had her eyes closed. but when she opened them, the famous golden trio was looking at her. 

Y/n instantly flushed red when she realized they were looking at her.

" i-uh-im-" 

Y/n fumbled with her words, but stopped in the middle of her sentence. It had suddenly gotten cold. REALLY cold. 

Y/n knew this cold all too well. "dementors..." she said her herself very quietly. 

Y/n got up quickly, and looked out of the compartment door. She could see one gliding straight towards them.

Y/n almost dropped her wand. All of her bad memories were coming back to her. She backed away from the compartment door.

Just when she backed up, the dementor reached the compartment, and was reaching its moldy, dead looking hand into it. 

Y/n gathered all her courage, and thought of the happiest memory she had.

"EXPECTO PATRONUM!" she said with a clear voice.

a silvery white doe came out of her wand, and acted as a shield. As soon as her words were said, she passed out.

When Y/n opened her eyes, her vison was blurry for a bit. She could only see the outlines of four people standing around her. A man's voice was calling her name. 

"Y/n! Y/n!"

When Y/n's vison finally went back to normal, she realized the person calling her name was Remus. And when she looked around, the golden trio were also looking at her.

 When Y/n caught eyes with Hermione, they both smiled at each other. They weren't friends, but they had done a few projects together.

But Y/n was still shy. When she saw the other two, she went pink. "Oh my gosh...I bet I'm turning red right now..." Y/n thought to herself

Y/n got up, and smiled when Remus gave ger chocolate. She ate it with no hesitation, and she instantly felt better. 

"Are you guys okay?" Y/n said kind of quietly, but loud enough to hear.

"What was that?" asked Ron, looking up towards her.

Y/n turned a darker shade of pink. 

"I asked if you guys were okay." she said, a bit more loudly this time.

"Yeah. are you okay?" said Harry.

"'I'm fine" Y/n mumbled back. 

Hermione just gave Y/n a reassuring smile. 

"Wanna be friends?" Asked Hermione.

Y/n looked taken aback at these words, but quickly nodded.

"i would like that." Y/n smiled at Hermione, and she smiled back.

"well, any friend of Hermione's is a friend of ours, right Ron?" stated Harry.

" yeah...i guess." said Ron, still looking out the window.

It was hard to believe that just a few hours ago, Y/n's only friend was Luna.

Because now, she had three more.

Y/n could tell this was going to be a good year.
