"I forgot they were testing me."

"You forgot?"

"Yep, completely voided it from my mind but it makes sense the ice cream parlor I was in got attacked. Didn't think much of it."

"You don't assess situations."

"I assess them when needed. Attacking an ice cream parlor is just stupid and annoying. I assessed it like that, " Satan sneered.

It wasn't as if he avoided the altercation entirely. The assailants were apprehended for disturbing the peace and no blame could be placed upon him. Except for maybe the destruction of local attractions. All him.

"This is nothing like the books," Mammon groaned.

"Is it now? They're beings like you and any stranger on the street. Except everyone overlooks them when they cause issues."

"Comic book heroes don't bomb civilians for tests. They're good but these heroes make me conflicted. How can...How can they do something so horrific and then justify it as a test of good?" Levi chimed in.

"It's easier to see in the light than in the shadows. They glimmer like vampires and everyone gets distracted," Belphie rolled his eyes.

"Vampires don't glimmer," MC offered.

"Ever seen one?" Came the retort.

"No," Mc sighed.

"Then they glimmer just like in the book you hide from us," a smirk was offered.

This would be a never ending game of all-the-things-you-know-are-wrong. In which, without much care, they folded into themselves with grins. Perhaps, they wished to cradle each's mental state and perhaps Mc longed to hold something familiar.

It was conversations like these that made MC unbalanced and at a loss. They never paid attention to the beings of this world and indulged in comic books much like Levi. Of course, they should've known best that fiction is sweeter than non-fiction.

"Those who trust what they see will often be deceived."

"Oh for fuck's sake," Mammon cried out.

With a swift kick to a clinical cart the group fled with Mammon nabbing MC's sleeve and darting into a nearby room. Levi's foot met the door as Satan strode towards the cabinets. Where the hell did they keep the sharp things?

"We're going to die," Levi heaved, "we are going to die."

"With that attitude we will," Mammon simpered.

"Wouldn't be too bad," Belphie yawned.

There it was an old discarded needle and a weird plastic tool he could snap.

"Who is that? What is that?" MC questioned.

"A witch," Satan responded.

"A witch? Oh, that makes sense," hysterical sarcasm, "I'm going to die and not know why."

"She used to have a contract with Mammon before someone went after him. Blah Blah Blah kidnapped blah blah blah woke in a hospital blah blah blah torture. That should cover it," Levi waved MC off.

"No, no it doesn't. Is she dead?" Mammon whined as he pushed Mc in front of him. such a savior.

"If not she will be," Satan offered.

A feral grin sauntered into the room.

"I'm not the one who'll be dying, boys."

"This is all your fault, Mammon," Belphie scolded.

"Neither will we but the situation is too good for a pass up," Satan grinned.

This was retribution and no one knew who it belonged to.

"Stockholm syndrome? Miss your captors enough to play them? Personally, I wouldn't go through the trouble for Mammon," Satan queried.

Mammon cried out behind him before being smacked by Levi.

A slight frown tugged at the witch's lips as she braced herself against the door. Nothing here made sense to her and she wanted to go home. Instead, some stupid Demon cursed her into eternal purgatory. Mammon was supposed to come when summoned and she had been waiting for so long. Her teeth pulled at her lip but these people knew about the men. They knew about the captor and Mammon. They brought him.

"That's what he has been doing?" A lip curl, "You entertained him enough that he wouldn't save me. Break our contract and get a new owner."

MC suddenly realized this was about them and Mammon was so going to be punished. However, MC had seduced multiple Demons-brothers so like the little fox they are:

"If he stopped himself from saving you to bed me then you should forget him," they glanced at Mammon, "Or at least let us go and keep him."

MC kicked their heel into Mammon's leg when he began to protest.

"MC is never talking us into another family bonding moment again," Levi complained, "We should've brought Asmo."

"Solomon," MC offered.

"Should've dragged our big brother into it," Mammon added.

"Never," Satan hissed.
