L O O S I N G T H E F O O T I N G
When he was sure that the van was parked in a safe place, Blitz took the keys and a few other belongings he needed with him and began walking inside Stolas' property.
Since, coincidentally, when he was parking, a car passed by him and through the glass of the window he was able to recognize Stolas' wife, he knew that he could walk more or less relaxed along the small rock path that was in the garden.
His gaze found itself so quickly hypnotized by the visibly new and attractive details that a part of the large garden and its environmental elements possessed, that he failed to register how he was about to collide with one of the prince's many plants.
"Ugh, fuck! The hell is that fucking pot made of?" He let out a curse driven by the pain of the impact and his hands went to his leg for a few moments to rub the area that now throbbed painfully and felt somewhat hot.
In any case, it took him about three seconds to huff indifferently and tune out the latent pain and then concentrate on continuing on his way, deciding that he would ignore the small pain until it became imperceptible.
Before moving from where he was, Blitz let himself be guided by his curiosity and looked down at the plant pot he had just collided with, finding that, just as he had thought, there was a small yellow sticky note.
"Fern in recovery. Temporary location. Return to its regular location in three days."
Blitz had no difficulty in recognizing how the way the handwriting on the paper was drawn with such elegance and delicacy gave away who the prince responsible for it was.
When Blitz read the date it had been written, something didn't add up.
It had already been four days.
Stolas, who somehow once managed to convince him to accompany him to do gardening activities for an entire afternoon before moving on to their common full moon activities; that Stolas had forgotten something as important as returning the plant to its rightful place?
Blitz frowned briefly, not knowing how to feel about it, but he was also quick to shake his head slightly and decide not to make a big deal of it.
It would be too exaggerated to dwell on such a banal matter; Stolas wasn't perfect, he could forget things from time to time, right?
Once he got back on his way, he added some haste to his step as he remembered why while driving from work to his house he had been in such a hurry that he almost crashed into another car.
It's not like that fact was new, actually; But he did know that if he had rushed so much it was because when he left his home he was more than just against the clock.
And it's not like he and Stolas had a specific time set either, but Blitz arriving early always left them even more time to... Have fun, which they both enjoyed.
When he was in front of the high and extensive wall that he always climbed to reach the prince's balcony, Blitz quickly started climbing.
Despite it being something he had been doing for a long time, Blitz still cursed between grunts and gasps at how complicated it was trying to get to the prince's balcony from the outside, and even more so with the book in his hand getting in the way. And yes, Stolas' wife may not have been home, but Blitz still didn't feel safe enough to walk in as if he owned the place with complete confidence in Stolas' palace.
Once he reached the top, he regained his balance and dusted off his clothes; Blitz placed the book in the middle of his right arm and side and walked inside.
