As Adhiraj and Dhruvi sipped their tea in silence, the sound of giggling and footsteps approached. Vaani and Adhveer burst into the kitchen, their faces alight with mischief.
"Ah, late-night tea party, and we weren't invited?" Adhveer teased, grabbing a chair and spinning it around to sit facing Dhruvi and Adhiraj.
Vaani, leaning against the counter with a smirk, added, "Such betrayal. And here I thought we were family."
Dhruvi chuckled, the tension easing a bit. "It's just tea. You're always welcome to join."
"Well, don't mind if we do," Vaani said, grabbing two more cups from the cupboard. "Let's make it a proper tea party."
Adhiraj rolled his eyes but smiled. "You two are impossible."
"Impossibly charming," Adhveer corrected, winking at Adhiraj. "So, what's the topic of tonight's deep and meaningful conversation?"
"Veer Bhai," Vaani said with a mock-serious tone. "It's obviously about the latest family gossip. Like Dad tried to moonwalk and nearly broke his back."
Everyone laughed, the mood lightening considerably.
"Poor Chachu," Adhiraj said, shaking his head. "I think he pulled a muscle."
"Both chacha and papa did" Dhruvi added with a giggle.
"Speaking of pulling muscles," Adhveer said, turning to Adhiraj, "Bhai remember that time you tried lifting weights because of that bet with shakti and ended up dropping them on your foot?"
Adhiraj groaned, his cheeks turning red. "Why do you always bring that up?"
"Because it's hilarious," Vaani said, laughing. "And because aap ki shakal chidh jaati when we bring it up." (because it annoys you when we bring it up)
Dhruvi smiled at the easy camaraderie between them. It reminded her of her own family, the teasing and the laughter.
"Chipkali tu toh bol hi matt" Adhiraj said, raising his hands in mock surrender. "Don't forget how you once got stuck in a tree trying to rescue a cat." (You lizard you shut your mouth)
"Hey, that was a noble cause!" Vaani protested. "And the cat was very grateful."
"Grateful enough to scratch your face," Adhveer said, grinning.
Dhruvi's laughter bubbled up again, feeling lighter than she had in weeks. "You guys are something else."
"We aim to entertain our cute bhabhi," Adhveer said with a dramatic bow from his seat.
Adhiraj looked at Dhruvi, pleased to see her laughing and relaxed. "See, this is what I meant earlier. We're all here for you, Dhruvi. We're family, and family means enduring endless teasing and embarrassing stories."
Dhruvi smiled, feeling a warmth spread through her. "Thank you. I really appreciate it."
Vaani reached out and squeezed Dhruvi's hand. "You're one of us now, Bhabhi. And that means you're stuck with us, whether you like it or not."
