At present, the revisionist camp is in the final stage of its dissolution, even if there are revisionists who do not want this to be true, who mourn their old privileges and who try to oppose the historical fact that Western imperialism has triumphed over Soviet social-imperialism. The imperialists' goal seems to have been achieved, namely to sweep the socialist countries off the face of the earth. In order to accomplish this historic counter-revolutionary act, the imperialists needed almost the same amount of time that we communists needed to build socialism, which has already been able to expand to about a third of the earth. And the imperialists, driven to the abyss by Stalin, would never have managed to make socialism sick, weak and vulnerable without the construction of various revisionist, social-fascist systems of rule, ultimately dealing it the deathblow.

A decades-long period of the degeneration of socialism and the restoration of capitalism was therefore necessary in order to get to where the revisionists were always drawn - back to the camp of the old capitalism or to their own "better" capitalism with a socialist veneer. Now that they have accomplished this sinister work, they have stepped down from the stage of history as liquidators of socialism. Does this also mean that revisionism has become useless for the bourgeoisie as a whole and for all time to come? The danger of the re-establishment of the dictatorship of the proletariat and the rebirth of socialism is real and objective for the bourgeoisie. That is why it needs revisionism, whether socialism is no longer in power or not.

Incidentally, it was the Khrushchevites who declared that modern revisionism had been destroyed for good. Are the Khrushchevites right today? No, they are never right. Lenin teaches us that the struggle against revisionism under socialism continues to intensify. Today there is no longer a socialist country. Life, the fact and the experience of revisionist betrayal itself show that the class struggle continues not only after the liquidation of the exploiting class, not only after the victory of socialism, but for a long time even after the victory of communism on a world scale, as long as the influence of bourgeois ideology continues. Revisionism is bourgeois ideology. The whole demagogy of the alleged fight against revisionism, the betrayal of socialism and the alleged return to Leninist and Stalinist positions is needed by revisionism today to camouflage its reorganisation and revival after its total historical defeat. The revisionists are currently endeavouring to strengthen their shaken position on the revisionist front and to consolidate the disintegrating ranks of the revisionists, at least in appearance. The whole thing is intended to give the impression of unity and mutual solidarity. After all, revisionism has not exhausted itself in reconquering the peoples and countries lost to socialism for capitalist exploitation. Lenin teaches in his writing: Marxism and Revisionism:

"Every somehow 'new' question, every somehow unexpected and unforeseen turn of events will always and inevitably call into being one or another variety of revisionism."

Revisionism has always tried to camouflage itself at the most critical moment of the power of the bourgeoisie with new masks that were supposed to feign a return to Marxism-Leninism. It turned out that there were two parallel currents of revisionism. One of them aimed to import Western capitalism as quickly as possible and then jump on the bandwagon as turncoats. Just as the fascists found refuge after the war in order to regain the levers of power, so did the social fascists of the former "actually existing socialist", i.e. revisionist degenerate countries. They are trying to outdo each other with acts of loyalty to imperialism and rants against the revisionist swamp and Lenin's and Stalin's socialist past in the hope of gaining a foothold in the top echelons of power.

But there is another kind of revisionists who, once accustomed to power, do not realise that the capitalist train has not stopped in front of them and has not stopped within the borders of the old sphere of power, but has gone straight on to the West. Some saw revisionism in power as an intermediate station to the control centres of Western imperialism, others saw it as a final destination, i.e. to reach the control levers of world power with the help of social imperialism and to challenge the Western imperialists for first place. And in view of the deep crisis of the "new" world system, these intentions are being fuelled and reinforced. These revisionists have not given up on confusing the masses with socialist phrases and presenting themselves as saviours from evil Western imperialism, which continues the work of destruction of the revisionists when they were still in power. For them, socialism presents itself as a source of power. A few "mistakes" and a few "culprits" are identified, and if these are eliminated, if on the one hand people behave in a more liberal and moderate way, if they are linked to the parliamentarism of Western democracies and on the other hand they remember and reflect on the original goals of communism and the classics, on the old tradition, then these revisionists think they have a chance of coming to power again. However, since the masses are quite fed up with the revisionists, they are also praising themselves to the masses as a lesser evil compared to all the deep negative, anti-grassroots traces left behind by the open grimace of capitalism in the East. The worse the consequences of Western capitalism, the more water on the revisionists' mills, or so they reckon, and so they want to regain the trust of the masses, which they have shamelessly exploited since Khrushchev's betrayal in order to build up their social-fascist system of rule. Nothing will change if they oppose the social-fascist excesses with seemingly liberal forms of power.
