Charlotte had always been regarded as a challenging child in the eyes of her parents. While other witches from different families and covens aspired to be part of her prestigious lineage, she often found herself yearning to have been born into a different family. This desire persisted for the majority of her life, overshadowing any sense of pride or contentment she might have otherwise felt.
The reason she had come to Mystic Falls, was to oversee the town and put other supernatural species in their place if needed, one of the many duties that came from being from the prestigious and powerful Adley line. Furthermore, one of her other goals was to keep an even more watchful eye on the Mikaelson family, due to past positive dealings by previous witches of her line. That is, if they pass through this town and stay long enough.
The Mikaelson family was the only one who could remotely come close to her family's line of extreme power, and to keep her family as the number one family amongst all the supernatural factories, but especially amongst the witches, Charlotte had spent countless hours from a very early age practicing and learning countless things, no matter how sick or tired she was, just to make sure not to disgrace her family, and to retain her family's power over the vampire family.
Despite her family members' advice that trust can sometimes be necessary, Charlotte held a different perspective. She believed in the importance of caution and ensuring that nothing went awry. In this age of supernatural beings, she understood that preserving her family lineage and power took precedence over blindly trusting others, no matter how alluring they appeared.
Charlotte had experienced countless instances in her childhood where trust had been betrayed, reinforcing her inclination to be skeptical. Even within her witch circle, she maintained a guarded demeanor, never fully trusting her acquaintances. Thus, when they mentioned hearing about the Mikaelsons' visit to Mystic Falls before returning to New Orleans for business, she took their words with a healthy dose of skepticism, rather than unquestioning trust.
While it was still rather unclear whether what the witches had told her was true, she had still made her way to the small town just to make sure, while also remaining cautious in case it was a trap or anything of that nature.
About accommodation wasn't something that she had to worry about due to her family owning two seperate properties in Mystic Falls, one close to the border and one that was more in the midst of the town, but far enough from the most populated area so that there were less disturbances and also less people.
The reason for one of the properties being so close to the border was so that in case there was a riot for supernatural beings, specifically Vampires but also Witches, the past generations of her family could flee in time if they got wind or a feeling that someone knew that their family wasn't as ordinary as they pretended to be, so the property was in her family for a little bit over 100 years.
Furthermore, it was a good property to make use of if a deal or negotiation was in need of an empty building, as it wasn't a good or smart idea to just lead someone into your current place of residence, existing alliances or not.
While her ancestors were very good at pretending to be normal, there was one time where someone successfully spied on them, but before they could tell everyone about what their eyes had seen, they were very quickly silenced by her ancestors, never to be heard of or seen again. That persons dissapearance was so sudden and fast that to this day, the poeple in their village and their ancestors while remembering it, just think that they got up and left everything behind.*✧('∩。• ᵕ •。∩')✧*
Charlotte had made her way to the Mystic Grill, mainly due to a meeting with another witch family that was living in the town, but also to fulfill the other part of her mission for coming here.
Choosing a two-seat table, she pulled a book out of her bag and hung her bag over her chair. Letting her eyes take in the building and the people in it, she could tell that a handful of individuals that were currently in the Mystic Grill were vampires, but there was also a werewolf and another witch, and going by the level of power coming from her, the one that Charlotte was suppossed to meet.
Taking a look at her watch, she noted that there was still fifteen minutes left before the meeting was supposed to take place, so she didnt reveal herself and ordered an iced tea instead.
