Brianna suddenly wakes up to the sound of Minus barking. The TV is still on in the background.
(BARK) (BARK)
Brianna grudgingly gets up and walks over to Minus who is barking at the back door.
Brianna: Minus what is it?
Minus continues to bark incessantly.
Brianna opens the door and Minus sprints out. Brianna follows Minus outside and remembers something important.
Brianna: Crap. Mom's gardening tools. The sprinklers will turn on soon.
Brianna walks over to the small garden and collects her mother's tools, including a large pair of garden shears. She takes the crate of tools into a small shed. Brianna places the tools in the shed and closes the doors behind her. She does not lock the shed door.
Minus chases a squirrel across the yard. Brianna walks over to Minus and over the fence, notices a white sedan. The same sedan she was been seeing recently. Brianna gets uncomfortable and decides to go back inside the house. Brianna enters her house but something is wrong.
The internet is down and the TV has stopped displaying the show Brianna was watching before she fell asleep.
Brianna: You've gotta be kidding me.
Brianna turns the TV off just as Minus enters back inside the house. Brianna goes to close and lock the door behind Minus. Brianna walks over to the WiFi router and inspects it. She finds nothing odd about it and decides to let the outage run its course. This would be a big mistake, as the front door is armed by a smart-lock which needs a network connection to operate. Brianna decides to take a shower and proceeds to head up stairs. Minus follows her up.
Brianna enters her bedroom and picks out some comfy clothes to change into after her shower. She also picks up her many bath necessities. Brianna walks over to her phone which is on a desk. Brianna notices it is low on charge.
She plugs her phone in to charge and leaves her bedroom, turning the light off as she does so. Brianna walks down the hall and towards the main bathroom. She stops by her brother's bedroom. Brianna looks at his door and smiles. She continues walking.
Brianna enters the bathroom but doesn't let Minus inside.
Brianna: It's okay Minus, I'll be out before you know it.
Brianna pets Minus on the head as he quietly whines. Brianna closes the door.
Minus goes down stairs. Without graphic gratuity, Brianna undresses and enters the shower. She adjusts the water temperature and shuts the shower door. Minus lays in the livingroom chewing on a toy bone, before the sound of the front door opening steals his attention.
Minus stops playing with his bone and lets out a small bark. Minus quickly walks over to the front door.
(YELP) (THUD)
A quick scene of Brianna showering.
The hooded man walks around the kitchen and inspects a few appliances. He opens some cupboards and drawers. The hooded man then roughens up the land-line's cord. The hooded man then leaves the kitchen and walks into the livingroom. He looks around the space and even sits on the couch, playing with the TV controller. He can hear the shower being used upstairs. The hooded man begins to make his way up the stairs and towards the sound of the shower. He arrives just outside the bathroom where Brianna is showering. The hooded man just stands there, not really doing much of anything. He just listens to the sounds of Brianna showering, knowing he can enter anytime he wants but simply chooses not to.
After an uncomfortable amount of time, the hooded man finally walks away from the bathroom door. He makes his way down the hallway to the right and into the Livel parents bedroom. The hooded man enters and turns on the light. He checks around the bedroom and opens the closet. He shuffles through a variety clothes and finds a purse. The man checks inside the purse and finds some money. He ignores the money and places the purse back where he found it.
The hooded man continues to look around the bedroom before bringing himself to the floor. The man looks under the king size bed and finds something interesting. Thomas's shotgun. The man reaches for the shotgun and pulls out a Mossberg Maverick 88. He checks to make sure it is loaded. The man takes the gun and walks out of the bedroom, remembering to turn the light off. The man with shotgun in hand, makes his way down the left side of the hallway.
The hooded man then reaches the bedroom of Brianna's deceased older brother. He opens the door and enters the bedroom. Inside, he turns on the light and examines the room carefully. He walks around and notices a small self with athletic trophies lining it. The name on them reads "Eric". The man inspects the bedroom further, finding sport memorabilia decorated around the bedroom. The man walks over to a nightstand beside a bed and looks down. He notices a slightly burnt and crooked car key. The hooded man picks it up and inspects it quickly. He places the key back down. The man then begins to leave Eric's bedroom. He turns the light off and quietly shuts the door.
The hooded man resumes his jounrey down the hall but briefly stops to examine the Livel family pictures hung up on the hallway wall. He continues after doing this. The hooded man then reaches Brianna's bedroom door.
The hooded man enters and looks around Brianna's bedroom. He opens her drawers and checks inside her closet. He even touches her pillow. Brianna finishes her shower and after a few minutes, steps outside the bathroom and makes her way down the hall while still drying her hair with a towel.
Brianna enters her room but doesn't notice anything out of the ordinary. She continues drying her hair in silence until her phone sounds off with a text notification. Brianna gets up and walks over to her phone. She opens the text.
[TEXTS]
Unknown: Surprise
Brianna is confused by the text. Who could this be she wonders.
Brianna: What the hell?
Brianna deletes the text and blocks the number. She sets her phone down before deciding to look for Minus.
Brianna: Minus? Minus, come here boy!
Brianna calls out to no answer. She begins to worry. Brianna gets up and walks down the hall, a hint of caution in her steps which she cannot explain.
Brianna: Minus?
Brianna looks down the stairs. Nothing.
She begins to take note of just how quiet the house really is. Brianna continues her slow descent down the stairs. She reaches the bottom and notices tufts of Minus's hair. Now her search for Minus grows more desperate.
Brianna: Minus, seriously where are you?
Brianna is downstairs and wandering around the livingroom. Nothing. She resumes her search in the kitchen. Brianna looks out of a back sliding glass door.
Brianna: Minus?
Brianna hears a noise coming directly above her. She looks up. Then suddenly the sprinklers turn on.
(PTSSSSSSSTSSSSSSSSS)
Brianna: Ah!
Brianna gets startled by this but is quickly relieved to see its just the sprinkler system.
(BAM)
The horribly mutilated body of Minus comes swinging down from a bedroom above and hits the sliding glass door from the outside!
Brianna: Ahh!
Brianna then realizes what swung down.
Brianna: OH MY GOD!! MINUS!
Brianna nearly gags in shock and disgust!
Brianna: NO!! MINUS!!!
Brianna falls down and continues to cry uncontrollably.
