OCTOBER
"Yasu!" The red haired boy kicked a couple of stones nervously, pacing back and forth. At the sound of my voice, his ears perked up.
"Y/N?"
"How are you feeling?"
"Nervous", the boy muttered under his breath. It was the final match of the season- Saturday, October 11, 2020.
Doshisha University was preparing for the much anticipated match against Koufuuin University. They had never won against Koufuuin, so nerves were high.
"Give me your hand". Reluctantly, Yasunari placed his hand in mine, palm up. Whipping a permanent marker out of my sweater pocket, I removed the cap with my teeth and started drawing.
"W- what are you doing?"
"I'm giving you a good luck charm!" I cheered. "Done!" "Isn't it so cute?"
Titling his head in confusion, Yasu tried to decipher the image drawn on his hand.
"It's a Tanuki". "They're supposedly good luck". "Now, you'll be able to play your best!" I giggled, causing Yasunari to blush slightly.
The sound of the 5 minute siren sounded, interrupting our conversation.
Curling up Yasu's hand, I placed a gentle kiss on his knuckles. "There, now you're guaranteed a win". "Now get out there and good luck!"
Clearing his throat awkwardly, he nodded before jogging onto the field.

The whistle sounds the beginning of the match.
Madoka kicks off first, sending the ball straight to Shingyouji, who catches it. He then kicks the ball further down the field.
My eyes follow the ball in amazement.
'Wow, his kicks are amazing'.
After a few tackles from our team, Koufuuin now has the ball.
Moments later, the sound of the whistle signals a foul.
Koufuuin held the ball for too long.
Now the ball was in possession of Ibuki who calmly kicks it towards Tamashiro, who then passes to Uchinashi. After almost fumbling the ball, Taylor passes to Ikuto. Before even having the chance to advance, Ikuto is taken down by two from the opposing team.
Kureha makes his debut as scrum- half, filling in for Takumi. He grabs the ball from the ground and sends it flying towards Yasu.
My heart skipped a beat, as my eyes followed his every move. Every game I watched of his, made me fall even harder for the boy.
Sprinting down the field, I eagerly awaited his next move.
'Is he actually going to score the first try of the match?'
Almost as quickly as that thought popped into my head, my heart sunk. Seemingly coming out of no where was one teal haired boy in particular.
Madoka Hongou.
'Shit that look like it hurt'.
Yasunari was slammed into the ground, ball still in hand. Saitou came to assist, and so did several other players from the opposition. Four or so men were piled on top of the red headed boy, in attempts to retrieve the ball.
"Go!" I heard Natsu yell from beside me. Kureha made an appearance. Scooping up the ball, he torpedoed it to Ibuki, who caught it with ease.
Suddenly, it seemed as if the wind was knocked out of the boy who still held the ball. It was the other Hongou, Kazutaka. He had slammed into Ibuki with such force, a guttural sound escaped his lips and the ball fell from his grip. A cacophony of gasps escaped from the mouths of our players, as Ibuki panted heavily on the ground, Kazutaka lying on top of him.
