But now in Christ Jesus ye who sometimes were far off are made nigh by the blood of Christ.
Inspiration: Sometimes we live as if we have to make ourselves ‘good enough’ for Jesus to complete His work in us. But Jesus’ work began on the cross when we were still far off from Him. For sin creates an impassable chasm between us and God, and only the blood of Jesus bridges the gap. Let us remember in our walk and in our witness that it is impossible to build half a bridge. Instead, we must depend wholly on the work of Jesus.
Prayer: Jesus, thank You for saving me. Thank You for doing the work that I could not do myself. Sometimes I take credit that should be Yours, or expect others to do what only You can do. Work through me so that my life may testify to Your saving power, and use me to draw others to Yourself. In Jesus’ name, amen.
