Marley was visiting Caroline for a bit as then they called Elena. “I dropped out of Whitmore. Why would I support their stupid football team? “ They walked past the sign into Mystic Falls, where Caroline mom’s patrol car was parked.

“It’s the opening game of the season, Caroline. Time to come home.” Elena told her.

“Didn’t you hear? She dropped out, so its not her home anymore.” Marley comment sarcastically.

Caroline sighed. “I am home! I just signed the lease to my new apartment.”

“...On the border of a town that doesn’t want you. That’s not home.. That’s sad.” Elena told her.

Caroline made a face. “You don’t even like football.”

“No, but I like drinking in the parking lot beforehand.” Elena comment.

“No, thanks.” Marley comment, making a face.

Just then they heard Tyler. “Caroline, you’re coming.”

“Oh, I’m not then.” Marley comment, rating an eyebrow.

“Uh, no.” Tyler admitted.

“Good to know.” Marley muttered sarcastically.

Caroline frowned. “Tyler, don’t act like you have any ground to stand on. You skipped an entire year...”

“And you hounded me for an entire year! So here I am.. Now get your ass back here.” Tyler interrupted her.

Elena sighed. “Caroline, I’m picking you up at 6 p.m. sharp tomorrow. Okay? Bring your school spirit. Bye!” then she hung up the phone and Caroline and her mom have a picnic lunch. Marley went to campus.

Alaric was teaching a class at Whitmore, which Elena and Marley happened to be in. He was writing on the blackboard in front of class. “Occult: the word in its literal translation means hidden.” Instead of following along with the lecture, Elena had a notebook laid up in front of her face while she drank from a cup. Marley sad behind her and raised an eyebrow. “Therefore, the study of the occult...” Alaric became flustered. “Uh.. Therefore, the study of the occult is the study of the hidden knowledge. Today, we’re going to discuss it and how it relates to resurrection.” From the front row, Liv snickered. “Is there something funny, Liv?”

Liv smiled. “Uhh. More like ironic, but okay...”

Suddenly a late and sweaty Tyler ran into the room. “Ah. Mr. Lockwood.. How generous of the squad to lend you to us.”

“Sorry I’m late.” Tyler sat next to Liv.

“Typically not all occult groups held a consensus on the topic.” Alaric comment.

Tyler looked at Liv’s text but she covered it immediately. “Sorry princess. Just trying to check what page we’re on.”

“Shh, I’m trying to listen.” Liv comment.

Alaric continued his lecture. “...Apostles, Athanasian Creeds Tertullian...” Liv used magic to turn a page in Tyler’s text. “...And the western church were inclined to believe in resurrection of the flesh, whereas the Gnostics held the firm belief that resurrection existed only in a spiritual sense.” He turned back to his students and whispered so only Elena can hear him thanks to her vampire hearing. “Elena, you know I can smell that, right?” Elena startled and stopped drinking blood from a bottle. “I’m teaching a class full of kids who all look like blood sausages to me. Now, put that away.”

“Sorry.” Elena whispered.
Alaric turned around and looked at the students. “Uh, whereas others like the early church Fathers...”

After classes, Marley went to her father to get away from things. She had open a portal and went through it. “Hi dad.”

Magnus looked up from his work. “Hi munchkin.”

“Is it okay if i crash for a few hours?” Marley asked to him.

Magnus nodded. “Of course, my dear.”

“Thank you, dad.” Marley thanked him.

“Your welcome.” Magnus comment to her. “But how are you holding up after everything?”

Marley sighed. “Just about.”

Magnus stood up and walked over to his daughter and he hugged her. “I would it will be okay, but its not. Not for a while, you need mourn, cry. Dive deep and put it in a place, where you every now and then can think back about it.”
