This is a story I've been working on for years and will be putting on wattpad soon! Here's a sneak peek!
All I could hear were the sirens. Even here, miles away from them, they echoed. I put my hands over my ears as I ran. Make it stop, I thought. It was an accident. I didn't know. I was in the woods, running to the only refuge I knew. An abandoned house on the corner. Just make it there, I told myself. You'll be safe there.
I wasn't. I made it to that house and he was there. He made me do it, that bastard. I grabbed a long knife from the kitchen and stalked towards him as he stared me down. "I thought you were gonna kill the guy," he told me. I spit at him and kept quiet. "You bitch. We could've been rich." He snarled at me. "But you killed the wrong person, dammit!" That's not what happened. He jumped up from his chair.
"Get out." I walked towards him. "I said, get out!" I screamed like a maniac and threw the knife while he darted towards me. I ran out of the house back in to the street and stopped. It was about midnight, judging from the moon's position. I stared at the sky. "Please." I thought out loud. "He can't be dead."
But he was.
I killed my own father.
