Omniscient POV
📍Some Rando's Crib
8:30pm"Bye girl, we'll see you later." Her two friends said giggling. The guys alongside them pulled them by their waists away and started kissing them "let's go girl" " you Kaz, uh good luck with that" they said as they laughed leaving the two alone.
"Man shut the fuck up" the boy said as he melted into the couch while mumbling profanities aimed at his friends.
"It's ok. You ain't gotta talk to me." She said looking straight at the TV. "Huh?" He said turning his head to look at her. She scooted away to the other side and said "o-oh I'm sorry. I ain't mean to be that close." "no whatchu say before?" "o-oh um yh you ain't gotta talk to me. I know how I look and how you look. And I know you ain't wanna be left alone with me so yh you don't gotta talk to me." She said as she looked down.
They sat in silence for a minute before she looked up and said "actually, imma just go to the kitchen. Leave you alone and all. I ain't mean to get in yo space" she said getting up to go.
The boy's eyes trailed her as she grabbed her purse and upped and left to go to the kitchen "ofc yo fat ass going to the kitchen" he mumbled. She heard and froze in her steps, feeling tears in her eyes but continued on walking.
Instead of going to the kitchen and staying she left out of the back door, texting her friends that her mum had an emergency and she had to go help her brothers. She stood by the bus stop waiting for a bus as she looked at the time. It was January winter in Chicago, the cold wind was blowing and snow was all around blocking the sidewalks.
She stood out in the cold shivering looking left and right for any bus. "Maybe I should walk" she says. " I need it anyway." After about an hour of walking home in the cold snow, she arrived home. She sighed frustrated at the messy sight. Her father was on the couch watching football surrounded by beer bottles and empty crisp bags.
Her brothers were getting up from the messy dining table, with empty bowls of casserole, plates and empty cups. "Yo fat ass home? Finally! Come clean this up" the boys said as they walked past her. Her mum came rushing down stairs in her scrubs and hurriedly grabbed her keys. She looked up to see Aniyah and pointed to the dining table.
"Oh hey baby, you back early? Clean that up for me will ya? And wash up and clean the kitchen and empty the laundry" " Ma , I'm tired and hungry tho." her mum paused for a second, looked her up and down before saying "you can skip a meal or four" before heading out and shutting the door in her face.
She sighed as she watched her mum pull outta the driveway and went to the dinner table to go clean it up " Nyah, get me a beer and clean that shit up."
Her Dad said as he peered over the couch motioning to the dinner table. "Why 'on they do it?" She mumbled. Her dad whipped his head around fast before saying " Don't make me come over there lil girl."She apologised, sighed and walked over to the fridge and pulled out another cold Budweiser to hand to her Dad. After that, she went back to the table and started collecting the plates and cups. She headed over to the sink and began cleaning up. After she was done, she wiped the table clean and headed to the freezer to grab two Salisbury steak dinners and some garlic bread from the fridge.
"Gahhdamn, 2!! Yo ass fat as fuck." One of her brothers, Tayvon, said. " That's some big back shit right there" Micheal, her other brother, said laughing. She sighed , throwing the dinners and garlic bread into the microwave and pressing the buttons. She turned around with a stoic expression on her face, looking at her brothers "Can y'all just leave me alone? I ain't eat all day aii."
