Sitting contentedly on the bench, he concluded his teaching duties for the day. Shivam hailed from a middle-class background, where financial struggles were never a prominent concern. However, being the youngest son, he felt the weight of expectations to match up to his elder brother's achievements. His brother had been managing the coaching institute before securing a job at KV, and he had entrusted the center's responsibilities to Shivam.

Reflecting on his family's aspirations, Shivam's thoughts shifted to his beloved girlfriend. He cherished her deeply and had already introduced her picture to his family. Now, all that remained was her consent to their marriage, a moment he eagerly awaited. As he pondered over these matters, his phone interrupted his reverie with an incoming call.

"hello...."

he chirped lovingly

"hello........"

Came a very dull voice from the other side of the phone

"Shivam sir......... i want to tell you something........"

just as she utter the sentence, he frowned.

"okay......tell me then..."

he again replied lovingly

"sir I thought a lot about it..........I mean about us........ during the six months of lockdown and ........."

Shivam frowned deeply as he is getting more confused after listening to her words. Its been more than a year to their relationship, she has stopped calling him sir but why now? She was actually his brother's student and he instantly fall for her due to her mischievous nature. They even had an age gap of 7 years but that was not the problem for Shivam. But what the hell is happening right now......

"and?........"

a deep breathe from the other side was audible enough

"we........we are not meant to be together."

he chuckled a bit thinking she was just joking but her next words and the seriousness behind it left him heartbroken

"I am sorry sir. You are a very good person but definitely not for me. I was too childish to consider it as love but it was not. We shouldn't have crossed the line. I am not even a virgin now. You know whenever we got physical, I always feel guilty and disgusted towards myself. Something in me always told me that our relationship won't work but i was a fool "

tears started to flow like a river from his eyes as he uttered his words with utmost difficulty

"please don't say this baby.....please"

She took a deep breathe once again and replied

"look it will be best for both of us. We both would cry if we took this relationship further. There is no future of it. Your parents want you to marry as soon as possible but I am only 20. I.........."

Shivam replied immediately

"i will wait for you baby......"

She sighed frustratingly

"till when huh........you are 27 already. Do you think you will wait for me for eight to ten years. And to hell with the wait, i don't feel anything for you. I just mistook my feelings as love. Please lets part our ways and don't bother me from now, Bye.............."

she disconnected the call leaving him brokenhearted.
