**panic attack continues**

as the faded stimuli continued to pound and my brain retreated partially into a subconscious level, I was startled by a pair of hands making contact with me, I internally struggled to raise my awareness and regain control of my senses. slowly more bits and pieces made it to my conscious awareness some one was talking to me, asking if I was okay I felt a hand travel to my medical alert bracelet I always wore just encase a situation like this occurred. then I felt both my hands being gently held. a fragment of conversation made it through "...tack  give us some space, bill can yo..." after a moment I was aware of a shift as the bombardment of un-comprehended stimuli faded a bit. relief washed over me and I managed to regain some control over my clenched eyelids easing them open, blinking, I saw a lady, the bartender, squatting in front of me, patiently holding me hands watching me as my eyes managed to focus her mouth moved, I blinked a couple times and she repeated her question calmly, "can you walk?" I accessed myself and forced my head to nod, her hands pulled mine slightly, guiding me up and than she lead me and I mindlessly followed vaguely aware of going past the bar and through a door into what appeared to be a employee break room I was guided to a chair and as I sank down she pulled up a chair next to me. she held one of my hands and spoke in soothing tones, "can you focus on me Gabe? deep breaths, in....  out..., I focused and managed to slow my hyperventilating breaths, good, your safe I'm right here you're going to be fine. I shook my head slightly as my senses cleared and the worst of the attack faded, looking at this stranger who came to my aid, I stuttered out "I I I'm s ssorry-" she shook her head cutting me off "shush now none of that you're fine, your doing good."  I took a few extra deep breaths to calm my racing heartbeat and adrenaline pumped body.  she had stepped away briefly across the room and she returned with a paper cup of water, and a ice pack, accepting the water I gulped it down feeling the relief on my parched throat. she reached to my face with the ice pack and explained "this is to help reduce any black eye effect," she paused, "do you remember what happened?"  I thought for a second as the cold ice pack came in contact with my  throbbing face, "t th there was a uh drunk and.." recollection of everything up unto the onset of the panic attack flooded back to me.   somehow her voice became even softer as she spoke "thank you, that was brave of you." I just nodded diverting my eyes shyly and I felt a blush spread across my face.  a moment passed and I relaxed the last tension from my muscles and a sigh escaped. she sat up straighter and looked around, "are you ok now, is there anything else you need? do I need to contact someone?"  I shook my head and cleared my throat "no, and thank you for helping," i paused a thought occurring to me and i asked slightly confused, "how.. how did you.." she chuckled and answered, "I have a brother that has pretty bad anxiety and gets severe panic attacks, his are a bit different, but I have done a bit of research.  I'm a med student and he's inspired me to learn some about mental health and all that, I take it you experience a lot of sensory overload?" I nod not sure what to say, "that medical bracelet is a genius  idea I'll have to share it with my brother," she said "I think tha..." a knock at the door interrupted her, and a bouncer poked his head in "theres a patron out here who is with him" he said nodding towards me. the lady glanced at me "are you good, you can wait a bit if you want." I shook my head she was really kind to bring me back here but I shouldn't keep her from her job. Stepping out I'm immediately met by a concerned Daniel, he has witnessed one or two of my attacks, "are you okay man?" glancing at the clock I nodded yes but I have a shift at the library tomorrow morning I should get home...   After a short drive home I collapsed into bed and briefly realized I didn't even know the lady's name, as sleep fell over me
