"So, do you have something that you want to talk about?"
Carina was sat in front of her parents the following morning at the dinner table, knowing exactly what they wanted to talk about. She had had been dreading the conversation but she knew it needed to happen. It had been her fault for springing the information on her parents and not give them the time to process that their little girl had found her other half.
"Nope." She pouted as she crossed her arms.
Prue rolled her eyes as she looked at her daughter, "We are so happy that you have found your soulmate but things like this, we talk about. You can't just yell it out as you're leaving the house. When did it happen? How do you feel? What's his name? What is he? What happens next?" Her mother had always been someone that worried about her. When they had been blessed with their daughter, the Halliwell line had been blessed with immortality to protect the supernatural community and humans from harm. But Carina was her baby and all she wanted was to protect her from harm, even if it meant her soulmate.
Carina took a deep breath as she looked at her parents, "That's a lot of questions. His name is Enzo and he's a hybrid. It happened a couple of days ago when I was in the woods. He's sweet, a good listener and already quite protective. We've been texting since I got his number, we've been getting to know each other. I like him but we're taking it slowly. I'm still not sure how I feel about it entirely but I'm trying and I want to get to know him." Enzo had come into her life when she least expected it but she wanted to get to know him.
"And this is a good thing?" Andy asked softly as he held her hands. Carina was the light of his life, his baby girl and he would always protect her. He wanted nothing more than for her to be happy with her soulmate but he had to make sure he was the right person for his daughter.
Their daughter nodded her head, "Yes, it's a good thing. I'm still unsure what happens in the future but I like what the present looks like. I'm okay and I have both of you to thank for."
"You have not been easy."
"Mum." Carina exclaimed as she looked at her mum wide eyed.
Andy laughed, "Your mum is right. We love you but you are such a stubborn child. Having you in our life has been an absolute privilege and we are so proud to be your parents. We are so happy that you have found your soulmate. Hopefully you don't drive him insane either."
Carina scoffed as she looked at her parents, "Wow. You both sure know how to make a girl feel better."
"That's what you get for not telling us sooner." Prue retorted. Andy nudged his wife as he grinned.
"You are both so lucky I love you."
"Same can be said about you, pumpkin."

"I'm glad you agreed to do this with me."
When Enzo had asked her to meet up, she had jumped at the chance to her soulmate once again. He sounded upset and annoyed on the phone, her curiosity getting the better of her. She wanted nothing more than to comfort him and take away what was bothering him.
Carina grinned before sipping on her tea, "I'm glad you called."
Enzo sighed as he looked at her, "I'm thinking of leaving the Cullen's." He had been roaming the earth far longer than any of the Cullen's had been created but he thought he had finally found a family. Rosalie, Emmett and Jasper were the only ones that he liked and still considered family.
"Why?"
"We just aren't a family anymore. Rosalie, Emmett and Jasper are the only ones that I still consider family. We spend time together, talk and laugh. The rest of them just want more power, they want to be feared and in charge. I agreed to join them because I wanted a family, now I'm not so sure we're even close to that anymore. I want to leave but I don't want to leave behind Rosalie, Emmett and Jasper." Enzo spoke. He loved the trio but the rest made him worried for those around them, especially his mate. He had just found Carina and the last thing he wanted was for her to get hurt. He couldn't lose her before he had even gotten to know her.
Carina took a hold of his hand, "You do what's best for you. Talk to Rosalie, Emmett and Jasper. They will understand, they might even leave with you. You won't know until you talk to them. You care about them and they care about you. Just talk to them." She could see the inner turmoil that he was going through and she didn't like it. She was a firm believer of doing what is best for yourself. If staying in the Coven was bringing him more pain than happiness, then he had every right to leave.
"I just don't want to hurt Esme's feelings, she's like a mother to me." Despite Carlisle being an absolute idiot and letting Edward, Alice and Bella pretty much run the Coven, Esme was a sweet woman that was blessed with a man that didn't care about her as much as she cared about him. It wasn't fair that the kindest people had to suffer at the hands of such narcissism and greed.
"And as your mother all she wants is the best for you. Again, if you have a conversation with her, I'm sure she'll understand. You don't have to stay if you don't want to." Carina reassured him.
Enzo pressed a kiss to her hand, "Thank you for listening."
"You say that like it'll get easier from here on out?"
"With you, the world can thrown anything at me and I'll get through it."
