Third Person POV

In Japan Ikeda drinks scotch on the balcony of his home nervously and anxiously waiting, stepping inside he looks at his men standing around the room with his dog laying sick and unable to move on his bed in the middle of the room, "Why is it taking so long?" He asks upset.

"The doctor is on his way. He comes highly recommended..." One of his men, Shigeki, tells him anxiously.

Ikeda is immediately irritated by his words and picks up a gun off the table while setting his drink down, waving it around a bit, "Did I ask for a professional reference? I asked why it was taking so long! That is a question of time, not quality of service. Do you think I would pay for an idiot to look at him?" He yells.

"No, Ikeda-sama." Shigeki mutters nervously.

"Can any of you idiots tell me why he hasn't moved in twelve hours?!" Ikeda asks angrily. "No? Then where the hell is the doctor?"

Just then the door chimes, the door panels draw back, revealing Alan Deaton, flanked by more yakuza men. Alan addresses the Ikeda in Japanese, "Ikeda, I apologize."

"Apologize if you can't do anything." Ikeda grumbles irritated as Alan moves over to the dog. "Have you worked with wolves before?" He asks.

"Here and there." Alan answers with a small smirk, "And what's our patient's name?" He asks, crouching down next to the dog.

"Yuki." Ikeda answers hesitantly.

"Hello, Yuki..." Alan greets the dog as he puts on some gloves, "Now, what have you gotten yourself into, my friend?" Before he examines Yuki's teeth and then asks, "Has Yuki been around any unusual plants? Something that looks like moss? It would be bright green, almost neon. It's called lichen, and it's highly toxic. I need to know if Yuki has consumed any."

The yakuza all give each other shifty looks as Alan talks, Ikeda crouching down to be with his dog obviously upset with the news, "If he has the poison, just treat him." He says.

"I'm sorry..." Alan starts, "But not without knowing the species. I need a sample." He lies.

Ikeda stands up, "It's in the garden." He says, and Alan slowly follows with his bag watching, "Shigeki, take him." Ikeda orders one of his men but no one moves, refusing to go out to the garden. He gets angry going on a rant in Japanese, "What's wrong? What is it? In this world, there are a lot of problems!" And walking past Alan mumbling, "Superstitious idiots..."

The head into the same garden where Chris' first deal with the yakuza and first encounter with a Nogitsune happened. Ikeda is incredibly nervous as they step inside the garden before motioning toward a fountain in the middle of the garden that's covered in lichen, "Is this what you're looking for?"

Walking up to the fountain, still with gloves on Alan opens his bag and hands Ikeda a glass bottle, "Hold this, please." Who takes it, holding it so Alan can cut a sample of lichen.

Ikeda asks, "You really think Yuki got in here and ate this stuff?" Nervously, not wanting to be there.

"Actually..." Alan starts, crouching down to cut a large enough sample, "I think Yuki probably doesn't come anywhere near here. I doubt if you could even drag him in. Some part of him probably senses what happened here... To your father, and the Nogitsune possessing him..." Hearing those words Ikeda pulls a gun, pointing it at the back of Alan's head. He's unbothered, glancing up across the garden to see Astra growling aggressively and ready to attack but he just continues talking, "This particular lichen is called letharia vulpina— 'wolf lichen'. They used it to poison wolves and foxes. They'd put out pieces of meat with crushed glass and bits of the lichen in it; the glass perforated the intestines of the animal so the vulpinic acid could reach the internal organs faster."
