Arrival

Yawn. 17 years and its still crazy. Having access to everything on a plane is entertaining, however, its really annoying having a direct flight and time zones being so weird. In La its 2:00 am while in NY its 5:00 am I always find myself confused on time when I arrive in NY after a long school year. Everyone finally took their seats and I look over and some blonde boy was sitting in first class next to me on a direct flight to NY. Thats so random since not many teens fly out to NY the night school ends.

"Welcome everyone the plane will be taking off in two minutes if you would like to abort the plane this is your last chance. Anyone flying first class for the first time, welcome to the Jet Blue Airlines, if you need anything let us know by clicking the service button on your arm rest. Outlets are under your seat and you may carry your iPhone, laptop or iPad with you but they must stay on airplane mode, there is wifi but no texting when we take off. Bathrooms are located up front first door on the left. Enjoy your flight thank you for picking Jet Blue."

I pull out my laptop and put in my headphones and the plane takes off as I chew my gum so my ears won't pop I see the blonde boy looking at me smirking. I was not looking for a discussion at 2 am. Two hours pass and my laptop starts going off, it was FaceTime on my mac. I answer it was Matt.

"Hey, its now 4:00 am here in LA if your still here I just wanted to say have a safe flight and I'm gonna miss you this summer can't wait to be in your classes in the fall"

"Thank you Matt, I meant to talk to you about that.."

"everything okay Shel?"

"I was going to see if i could live with my dad because Kristin is getting remarried and I really don't see the point of me spending the school year with my mom when she just does whatever she wants I practically live alone, if she had a kid I guess I would reconsider but she isn't the mom she use to be I will miss you but I will fly out on vacations to see you."

"Aw you're so sweet but I'm exhausted and the lights on the plane have went off which is a sign of sleeping hours. Goodnight I'll talk to you when I land. Thank you for everything have a great summer if we don't stay in touch."

I fell asleep for a few hours and the lights on the plane went on and so did the assistant pilot.

"Rise and Shine it is now 8am and 11 am in New York. We will be landing in approximately 1 hour and 10 minutes. We will be around with breakfast and drinks in a few minutes, to start off your morning, we will allow the tv's to be turned on and you can skim through our channels, channel 5 is the news, channel 8 is Miss Worlds 2014, channel 10 is Disney, channel 12 is Nick and channel 15 is Mtv."

"hey are you Shel from my algebra class?"

"yeah oh my god you're the new kid Andre right?"

"yeah, I'm heading to NY just like you."

"wait why?"

"my mom, Rachel lives there she wants me too meet her new boyfriend Michael why are you flying?"

"my dad lives out there he wants me to stay the summer."

"sounds like a blast we def should hangout while we can maybe we can get a milkshake or something before we go see our parents? I have a rental car waiting at the airport."

"sure I just have to ask my dad."

I text my dad via imessage from the wifi

"hey dad can I go get a milkshake before I come to the house and meet your gf?"

"yeah with who?"

"this kid andre"

"okay sound good"
