gepard felt nervous. mostly because he was meeting up with y/n for their first ever "lesson" and also because he was stupid.  if only he took a second to think about what he was getting himself into. now he roped y/n into his stupid dating lessons thing, and he made her think that he likes a whole other woman.

so now, he sat at some café in belobog, waiting for y/n to arrive. and for once, he was off duty, so he was wearing casual clothes, and a huge coat that looked too comfortable.

"hey, gepard!" he heard a familiar voice, and he turned his head to the side, his blue eyes meeting e/c ones. y/n approached him with a little smile on her face, but his eyebrows knit together once he saw that she was dressed in clothes that definitely didn't suit belobog's weather.

"hi, opal." he smiled shyly at her, using her stoneheart name as he still didn't know her real name— if she had one, and watched as she sat down across from him on the table. he noticed how she shivered from the weather.

he frowned, "it's too cold, you know." he said, his eyes on her. and even though she was still wearing lots of layers, it still wasn't enough for the freezing weather of jarilo-iv.

y/n shrugged her shoulders, as she rubbed her hands together. "it's fine, don't worry." she waved him off with a little smile, but it still wasn't fine. gepard could tell, but he didn't want to push it.

"...i'm sorry." he murmured with a frown, his cheeks tinted with a pink color. this time it wasn't from the cold, "for dragging you into this..." he awkwardly smiled.

y/n raised her eyebrows slightly, then shook her head and lightly laughed. the way she laughed made his heart flutter. "oh, don't worry about it, geppie." she grinned, using the nickname serval and lynx always called him. "i'm happy to help you with this! so... can you tell me more about the girl?"

he looked away awkwardly once she called him geppie. how was he supposed to answer this question? she's right in front of me, he wanted to say, but obviously he couldn't. other than thinking that y/n couldn't like him back, he thought he didn't have the guts to say anything.

not after the way he screwed it up a few days ago when he wanted to confess.

"well, she's..." he trailed off, frowning as he tried to think of something to say. "i... don't know much about her, not even her name." he lied. "but this isn't about her— well, it is, but it's more about how i'm so bad when it comes to stuff like this."

y/n hummed in response, as she seemed to be thinking about what to say. she didn't know much about gepard's experience with romance. "have you ever dated before?" she asked, but honestly the answer was obvious.

he shook his head, awkwardly smiling, "not really." well, she expected that answer.

"you know, gepard, i think if you approached her and just asked to get to know her, she'll agree." y/n giggled, a hand to her lips as she spoke. "i don't think anyone has the guts to reject you, you know," did that also count for her? "you're the gepard landau." she grinned, patting his shoulder from across the table.

the gesture made gepard's already hot cheeks heat up even more, and he gave her a little smile. she knew how to make him flustered. "you flatter me... but i don't think she'd be willing to get to know me just because i'm the captain."
