A New Beginning!!
I opened my eyes when I felt like someone was staring at me."Yes I was right". A guy within the inverse compartment was gazing at me. He look aged over 40. I didn't feel his gaze wasn't for a good will, so I took my luggages and cleared out from there and went to the next compartment seeing it was empty. But, when I saw a lady sitting there ,I felt immense relief.
"Excuse me, is this seat reserved?"
"It was, not any longer" She said
I was confused until I noticed her and realised that she is a transgender, perhaps that's why this compartment is empty.
"Anyway, that's great"
I put all my stuffs on the seat and sat opposite to her. She looked at me as if surprised by my behaviour. When I saw it, she tilted her head and look outside.
"Did I make you awkward, I...I'm sorry....I......I'll sat there"
"Hey, no...no I...I'm alright,if you don't mind,please be seated. I...I was just surprised by your action.Probably everyone tried to avoid or maintain a strategic distance from me, For the first time I'm seeing someone talking to me without feeling disgusted."
I didn't say anything but smiled at her and she smiled back, we both were silent for some minute and decided to break it.
"Didi...at which station do you get off? "
"Palakkad" she said with a big smile
"Great,then we are getting off at the same station".She smiled at me.
Again there was a big silence.she started reading her book while, I started enjoying the outside view.
Suddenly we heard the somebody trying to opening the compartment door. "Yes.. That's him" the guy from the earlier compartment.
He was smirking which made me disgusted. He sat opposite to me. I was creeped out, when I saw the guy was looking at me without even blinking and it is getting weirder and weirder. The lady noticed it and got up from her seat, she warned him and closed the curtains.
I smiled at her. She sat on her seat and spoke
"Well I'm Lakshmi"
"H.. Hi I'm Darlyn "we smiled and granted her a hand shake. It didn't take long for us to become really close.I was so happy to find someone who considering me after all these years.
"I was born as Laxmikant into the prestigious Iyer family in Palakkad. My life was smeed idyllic and joyful until I discovered the truth about my identity, When I realized I was different from other boys, my world crumbled around me. Appa, Amma, relatives,even friends turned against me. Everyone blamed me. Appa always beat me mercilessly, friends hurled insults and abused me. Even my sister admitted she feels hatred and disgusted for having a brother like me."
She sighed
"Eventually unable to endure the tortuer, I made a painful decision to leave home and began my journey towards my true identity as a transgender. Now I'm living a happy life with my real identity and passion".I smiled at her
"And you know what? this is the first and the last time coming back to my hometown as a woman"
I was amazed at her confidence and the way she faced and overcame the problems. I feel so proud about her.
but my smile dropped when she asked
"Ya,that's all about me. Now... Tell me about you. Your family,friends, boy friends" when I looked at her, she winked at me.
