It was a sunny day at the Tree of Life and there was a lion and a lioness that were slumbering within the tree. They went by the names of Kion and Rani. After Kion's coronation, all has been peaceful and there haven't been any attacks upon the tree in a few months.
Kion yawned as he awoke. He looked to his right side to see the empty space where his mate would be situated. He was alarmed that she was gone.
He dashed outside only to find Rani conversing with the Night Pride and Day Pride (Lion Guard).
Kion smiled and walked up beside Rani.
Kion: Good morning everyone!
Beshte: Good morning Kion!
Bunga: Mornin' your majesty! Bunga did a fake bow to tease Kion, to which Kion laughed.
Kion: Bunga! We both know I'm still getting used to that title.
Bunga: Ok Kion.
Rani rolled her eyes at Bunga then rested her head on Kion's shoulder.
Rani: Morning Kion.
Kion: Hi Rani. So, what are we doing today?
Rani: We were going to get breakfast, but there is a new mountain goat family that wants to move in so we must escort them.
Kion shrugged and smirked.
Kion: Piece of cake!
Rani: Sure it is. You have adapted well over the past few months. Everything for you is a piece of cake.
Kion: I wouldn't go that far. I still have difficulties with some things.
Everyone looked at him curiously.
Fuli: Like what?
Kion: Well, I-
Kion was interrupted by a familiar snow owl who swooped in, seemingly alarmed at something.
Ullu: Hoohoo! Your majesties! Everyone!
Rani: What is it Ullu?
Ullu: I spotted a strange lion, making his way up the mountain pass. He looks like he's dangerous and intimidating.
Kion: Understood! Night Pride and Day Pride let's go!
Both guards traveled to the mountain pass where they spotted the strange lion who was roaming around nonchalantly.
Kion: Who are you?!
???: I'm sorry to trespass if I did. I was just exploring. I am a rogue lion you know.
Kion's expression softened ever so slightly, but Rani completely let her guard down.
Rani: You must be tired then. You can come and rest here for a while, you can even stay if you'd like.
???: That would be great. Thank you.
Rani: No problem. I didn't get your name by the way.
???: My name is Uharibifu. And yours?
Rani: My name is Rani, Queen Rani actually.
Uharibifu looked curiously at her. Rani observed Uharibifu and saw that he had piercing red eyes that were stunning.
Rani's insides slightly melted when she made straight eye contact and blushed slightly.
Rani: I am the queen here and Kion is the king.
Uharibifu: Oh, okay your majesty. Uharibifu then bowed.
Rani: No need Uharibifu. Just call me Rani.
Uharibifu: Thank you then Rani.
Rani: No problem. Now let's go and find you a place to stay.
Rani then led Uharibifu into the Tree of Life's territory.
Kion observed the scene from a short distance away. He noticed Rani's tinted blush and a speck of anger boiled inside him but quickly receded. He shrugged it off and considered it not a big deal.
Little did he know, that this was the start of a sequence of lifechanging events in his life.
