Where you decide to speak with him.
A lowly mortal, choosing to use your inquiries to gain wisdom.

You first discovered him when needing your own alone time. An overwhelming load of work was demanded from you to the point you needed to step back and take a breath in hopes of gaining a better composure. Instead, however, you found yourself even more panicky at the sight of such an inhumane being wearing a soft aura. You could barely comprehend what was before you, but the moment your nerves spiked, they almost instantly settled at a brushing hand from the wind telling you to relax.

You did not utter a word, just stared, bewildered. Before he eventually retrieved himself from a faux reality and spoke to you directly.

"You have been staring for a while." He commented, a tone so incredibly calm you forgot your previous situation and revolved your thoughts entirely around him. It was as if you were suddenly put in a trance, hypnotized by the breezy tone.

Light shed across his skin in golden threads, covering his skin in an aureate silk. "Give your eyes and legs a rest..." He lifted his hand from the spot beside him and placed it in his lap, his large wings gently stirred against the gentle grass. You found yourself blinking absently in confusion. He was speaking directly to you as if you were closer than strangers...

"You're tired..." There was a faint rustling, the gale forced a few stray hands to fly loose and towards the horizon. "I can sense it." He added quietly, a lilt of amusement dancing through his words. Your arms huddled close to your chest as a stronger breath of air pushed against your back, you found then, it was time to move forward.

The grass parted for your footsteps, the slight break of the emerald strands parted just for you to pass through. And only you.

"What causes your fatigue is but a mystery to me, however, I will not judge you for what you've experienced." You were silent for a moment before finally finding the will to continue. "Who are you?" You voiced, standing closer than before, just to his side and enough to let your heart remain at ease.

"Are you willing to keep a secret?" He quipped, a small grin across his face, eyes shut and lips apart as he enjoyed the spring breeze. "A secret?" You pondered, staring down at him with nervous fingers.

He did not respond but the wind hummed for him, it was something solemn yet undertones with playfulness. Still only able to glance at his side profile, you could hardly bring yourself to breathe.

He was divinity; young and fair skin across his face and neck; eyes closed with long and dark lashes adorning his lids; reminiscence of history adorning his face in ivory lines doodled across his light skin.

"I'm unhappy with myself and what I've done, I find myself to be my own enigma..." He stated simply, his head kept forward and honest, as if looking to the future with guilt and burdens. "What...?"

"I'm not what I appear to be — an angel, a saint, a god — I'm none of what they say I am." He rephrased, speaking with a dullness that strangely kept you interested. "My looks are deceiving and humans are naïve, I want them to live in trust and freedom... but I do not think I should be the provider of that." He muttered, hoping for understanding but expecting resentment. He didn't know what to think of you, you seemed interesting and loyal — although, very honest and lonely — but nevertheless, compelling.
