An alarm goes off, and a woman's hand hits the
button to turn it off. She gets up, grabs her glasses, and fixes her hair. Then she starts putting on her dress, making herself look pretty. She begins rehearsing her lines while brushing her teeth."This is Vanessa from... mmfh... Channel Five News... mmfh," she says. She spits out the toothpaste and rinses her mouth with water. She walks out of the bathroom, grabs a piece of toast, and leaves her house, getting into her truck. She drives to work, humming her favorite song, "Cover Me" by Bruce Springsteen, which is playing on the radio.
She arrives at her office and, as the lead of her team, steps out of her truck and unlocks the door. After making herself a cup of coffee, she sits down at her desk, puts on her headphones, and starts typing notes on her current story, the Missing Children Incident (MCI for short). The case is definitely haunting, with rumors swirling around the arrest of the owner, William Afton, and the abandoned diner where several children disappeared without a trace. Over the past few years, Vanessa has been determined to uncover the truth behind the mysterious disappearances and won't let anything stop her from getting to the bottom of it.
She packs up her stuff, gets in her truck, and heads to the pizzeria to investigate. She struggles to open the door and then searches the building for an entrance. Finding a broken window, she climbs in, looks around, and walks up to the stage, where she sees the animatronics: Bonnie, Freddy, and Chica.
"Looks like the gang's still here," she says, snickering to herself as she remembers fond memories from her childhood. She moves to another stage where the curtain is closed with a sign that reads "Out of Order." She opens it and sees a fox animatronic. As she examines it, she hears movement and turns around to see one of the animatronics has moved. It's a blue bunny with a red bowtie. She feels a mix of confusion and fear and shouts, "WHO'S THERE?! STOP MESSING WITH ME AND COME OUT! I'M WARNING YOU!"
Her cameraman, Joseph, hops out, scaring her. "What the heck??" she says, irritated but confused about how he knew she was there.
"What are you doing here?" she asks, looking at him in confusion. He smirks, laughing. "Come on, it was funny," he says, still laughing. They both finish exploring the pizzeria, grabbing any files they can find that would be perfect for the story. They leave, ending their day and heading back home. Joseph calls her later.
"Hey Vanessa, I was wondering if you'd like to go out to dinner tomorrow night," he says, sounding nervous.
"Sure, that sounds fun. See you tomorrow," she says, hanging up with a snicker.
