⚠️ Please proceed with caution. This can be a potentially triggering character due to mentions of s/h, scars from s/h, dealing with trauma, and mentions of s/a (I promise I don't go into detail with anything. I make it as vague as possible while still getting the point across) ⚠️
You look down on me as if I'm some soft of injured dog!
Like I don't have an opinion, like I don't have a say.
Well you're wrong!
Just because I don't speak, doesn't mean I don't have a voice!

Name: 'My name is Sophia Maxwell; it's nice to meet you.'
Age: 'I am twenty three years old.'
Birthdate: 'My birthday is May 14.'
Gender: 'Female.'
Pronouns: 'She/her.'
Species: 'I'm human. I do believe in the supernatural though. My mother used to like to say she was a witch. I don't think that's true, but to each their own.'
Appearance: 'Well I am right here so looking would take much less time than trying to describe it to you.'
Height: 'Umm..I think I'm 5'2.' Sophia is, in fact, 5'2.
Style: 'Well, when I'm at home, I often wear my fuzzy pants and sweatshirts. However, when I'm at work, my fashion is very business casual.' Sophia has several sides to her wardrobe. At home, she wears her fuzzy pants, sweatshirts, and the occasional pair of shorts. When she's at work, she typically wears skirts or black skinny jeans and light sweaters or blouses. She will also wear the occasional dress but that is few and far between. Her style also changes when she is out with friends. She's definitely looser when she's with friends and she can usually be found wearing leggings and a hoodie.
Religion: 'I'm agnostic. I do believe that there is a higher power out there and I can acknowledge that, I'm just not sure what that higher power may be.'
Sexuality: 'I am polysexual. I'm attracted to men and people on the nonbinary spectrum. I'm not really attracted to women, though."
Personality: 'Well, I guess to put it simply, I'd say that I am hardworking and kind.' This is true. Sophia is a very hardworking woman. Because of the fact that she doesn't speak, she often has struggles getting through doors that speaking people can walk through easily. There are often those barriers because people don't know ASL (or BSL; she learned BSL while studying abroad in college), and that opens up difficulties for her when it comes to finding a job and such. This means that she just has to try harder than anyone else. She pushes herself as much as she can in order to be the best she can be, even with the hurdles that she has to jump through. She is a very resilient woman, that much is sure. She tries not to let things get her down or stop her from going after her dreams. Additionally, as she said, Sophia is a very compassionate woman. She cares deeply for the safety and wellbeing of others, even if they are complete strangers. She is a very helpful person and she does what she can for people in need. But she also understands boundaries. Some people just don't want help. And while that is hard for her to accept when it is so clear that they need help, she does. Because the last thing she should do is force someone to get help when they don't want it. That could just make everything worse, after all. Sophia is also a very maternal spirit. She is absolutely wonderful with children . For a few years when she was a teenager, she used to babysit her neighbors children to earn a bit of money and they always loved her. Helping them and just treating them the way they should came easy to her. She is also very intelligent. This helps her a lot when it comes to the working field because even with these communication barriers and other obstacles that may arise, she is quick on her feet and does her best to try and find a solution as quickly as she can. It's safe to say that she's a team player. She works well with others, but others don't always work well with her. People tend to get frustrated over the fact that she doesn't speak, especially when they find out that she has the full capability to (or so they think). However, while Sophia does seem like a strong person, everyone has their downfalls and she is no exception. See, she deals with past trauma on a daily basis. That trauma usually comes in the form of nightmares. Sophia is actually a very anxious woman and when it comes to making friends, it can take her some time to truly open up and feel like she can be open about things. She has always been timid around men too which is why finding love is so hard for her. She wants a relationship but she's basically scared of most men. And while that fear will go away over time if the man is willing to stay and prove that he is there to help her instead of hurt her, most aren't willing to do that. Most leave. But she understands why. She comes with a lot of baggage and most people don't want to be there for her and help her carry it. The funny thing is is that Sophia has never really told anyone what happened to her in the past. It's the fact that she doesn't speak that really makes people walk away to begin with. So yes, Sophia is a pretty anxious person and she is uncertain and cautious around men, but when she does open up, she's her regular sweet and loving self. See, that's the thing. Sophia isn't the kind of girl who asks for a lot. She just wants someone to stay and love her for her she is, despite her many faults. Also, she really struggles with her self esteem. She has people tell her every day how beautiful she is or how pretty she is, etc., but when she looks in the mirror, when she sees her scars, sees herself, she doesn't think those things. She sees someone who isn't worth love, sees someone broken. So when people do give her compliments like that, she often just gives a small smile and shrugs it off because she doesn't really think they're telling the truth.
