It was Sunday morning. Shubman woke up to find himself sitting beside Sharmili's hospital bed, his head resting on the railing. "Are yaar mai kab so gaya?" he whispered.
Shubman had already made arrangements the previous night. He had informed his manager that he would be heading directly to the GT camp for the IPL and wouldn't be returning home on Sunday. He also encouraged Sharmili's parents to go home in the dawn and that they return after having breakfast. Till then Shubman would be with her.

As Shubman stirred, preparing to rise from his seat, he felt a gentle tug on his hand, halting him in his tracks. Turning his gaze downward, he saw Sharmili's peaceful form, her delicate fingers holding his own. She had been sleeping holding his hand, a silent plea for comfort and reassurance.

For a moment, Shubman simply sat there, his heart swelling with tenderness as he watched her sleeping. He couldn't help but marvel at the vulnerability and trust she exhibited in that simple gesture, finding solace in the warmth of their connection.

Gently, so as not to disturb her, Shubman adjusted his position, ensuring that he remained by her side. He allowed himself to bask in the quiet intimacy of the moment, cherishing the simple yet profound bond they shared.

After a while, Sharmili stirred from her sleep, her eyelids fluttering open to meet Shubman's gaze. Their eyes locked, and in that silent exchange, they shared a moment of unspoken understanding.

Shubman: *softly, with a tender smile* "Tum theek ho?"

Sharmili: *gently squeezing his hand* "Haan, main theek hoon. Tum yahan?"

Shubman: *nodding* "Haan, main yahin hoon. Tumhare saath."

Sharmili: "Kal raat ko tumhari return flight thi na?"

Shubman: *smiling* "You are more important than a flight Sharmili"

A tear left Sharmili's eyes.

Shubman: *tensed* "Kya huya? Is it hurting somewhere? Are you okay?"

Sharmili: *weepy yet smiling* "Shubman.... Aise hi hamesha mere paas rehna please"

Shubman wiped the tears from her cheeks.

Shubman: *tightening the grip on her hand* "Hamesha rahunga"

Their words were simple, yet laden with emotion, conveying a depth of feeling that words alone could not express. In that quiet moment, as they sat together, hand in hand, the world around them seemed to fade away, leaving only the two of them, bound by an invisible thread of connection.

As Shubman and Sharmili shared their intimate moment, the tranquility of the room was shattered by the sudden intrusion of Sid. He strode into the ward with an air of urgency, his eyes fixed on Sharmili as he bombarded her with a barrage of questions.

Sid: *rapidly* "Sharmili! Oh my god you are awake! Are you okay? Does it hurt too much?"

His words tumbled out in a flurry of concern, his brow furrowed with worry. But as his gaze shifted to Shubman and Sharmili, holding hands tightly, his expression softened, a wry smile playing at the corners of his lips.

Sid: *teasing* "Sorry, bad timing."

Shubman and Sharmili exchanged a brief glance, their hands still clasped together, before turning their attention back to Sid. Despite the interruption, there was an underlying sense of understanding between them, a silent acknowledgment of the bond they shared.

Shubman: *nodding towards Sid* "It's okay, Sid. We're just glad you're here."

With a nod of gratitude, Sid offered a faint smile before turning his attention back to Sharmili, his earlier concern still evident in his eyes. And as they settled into a comfortable silence, the tension of the moment eased, replaced by a sense of unity and camaraderie among the three of them.

As Sharmili recounted the events leading up to her accident, her words flowed with animation and fervor, painting a vivid picture of the moments preceding her fall. Sid listened intently, his expression shifting from concern to amusement as he followed her narrative.

Sid: *sympathetically* "Gosh, Sharmili, you really had quite the adventure, didn't you?"

Sharmili: *nodding* "Tell me about it. I never imagined a simple ride on your scooty would turn into such a drama."

As they shared a laugh over the unexpected turn of events, Shubman couldn't help but admire the easy rapport between them. Their friendship was palpable, a testament to the bond they shared and the trust that existed between them.

Shubman: *to himself, with a sense of admiration* "Just like Ishan and me. Pure friendship, no hidden agendas."

As he watched them exchange stories and laughter, Shubman felt a pang of remorse for his earlier accusations against Sharmili. He realized now that he had misunderstood their relationship, allowing jealousy and insecurity to cloud his judgment.

Shubman: *reflectively* "I misinterpreted everything. I owe Sharmili an apology."

With a newfound sense of clarity, Shubman resolved to make amends for his hasty judgments. And as he listened to Sharmili and Sid's banter, he felt a sense of gratitude for the friendship that had blossomed in the midst of adversity, a reminder of the power of genuine connection and understanding.
