ROUGH EDIT:
Chapter 1:
It was 5:00. Well, at least that's what it said on the clock in Bethany and Chelsea's new apartment in London. Bethany had been here for over three hours already, and she had a lot of unpacking to do.
"Ugh! This is going to take me forever!"
"Shit!" said her roommate, and long time friend, Chelsea. Bethany looked over at the skinny, medium height girl with long brown hair and faint blonde highlights who was now jumping up and down in pain. Chelsea had already started unpacking the minute they set foot into their new apartment and has not stopped since.
"What's wrong?" said Bethany.
"I stubbed my freaking toe on the freaking table! Ugh! Why am I always such a klutz?!" screamed Cheslea as she now rubbed her swollen toe. Bethany couldn't help but laugh a little bit. She couldn't even count how many times she's stubbed her own toe on that same table before.
Bethany had been helping Chelsea unpack for hours, and she had to admit, she was getting tired. She looked over at her pile of boxes that were on her bed, and couldn't help but let out a little sigh. She looked at Chelsea, and Chelsea looked at her. She could tell that they both were thinking the same thing .... they needed a break.
They decided that it was time to leave the apartment, and explore the amazing and big city that was called London.
It was a cool, late August night in London. Chelsea and Bethany spent two hours walking around the beautiful city. They looked at clothing stores, listened to live music, sampled different foods at a food festival, and strolled through a beautiful park called Green Park. They talked about the events that they had planned for the two of them while they were trying to break in the new country.
Chelsea stated that she was going to look for a new job at a local newspaper company or radio station, because she figured that she would need some place to start in the journalism section of entertainment industry.
Bethany said that tomorrow, she would start looking for auditions for movies, television, and theatre because she wanted to be an actress. She felt that it would be best for her to first look for internships with theatre companies, movie, and television companies first so that she could get a feel for what it was really like working behind the scenes in her section of entertainment.
"Since I might be working as an intern, I figured I should get a real job that pays first. What do you think?" asked Bethany
"Of coarse you need a paying job first! You don't expect me to let you mooch off of me for money, now do you? I used to drive you around everywhere for two years before you even first got your license so try to get a job that's close, okay?" Chelsea said.
Bethany couldn't help but laugh a little bit. By this time, they were back in the city.
"Hahaha. Who are you? My mother?" said Bethany teasingly.
*She jokingly stuck her tongue out at Chelsea. Chelsea did it right back to her, and they laughed.*
"Of coarse I'm going to get a real, paying job that's close. Haha. I'm not going to walk for miles every day just to go to some job that's about an hour away by car."
"Hey! Look!" Chelsea exclaimed, pointing her finger at a local coffee shop which read the words "Sacred Café" on the sign in Soho, London. Bethany looked at what Chelsea was looking at, and it turns out, it was a "help wanted" sign.
"You could work there!" said Chelsea.
"Me?" said Bethany.
"Yes, you!"
"What makes you think they would hire me?"
"Oh .. I don't know ... because you're a hard worker?"
"True, I guess." shrugged Bethany.
"Then go! Go do it!" shouted Chelsea.
"What? Me? Now?! Why?" questioned Bethany.
"Because by tomorrow, they could have already found the new workers that they needed, and you would not even be considered for a job if it was too late."
"Alright! Alright! I'll do it now! God!" said Bethany.
"But you're coming with me, and you have no choice in the matter .."
"-wait .. what?! .. no! .. I-" Chelsea started to say as Bethany grabbed her by the arm.
"Let's go." Bethany said, cutting her off.
And with that, the two of them entered the little down to earth coffee shop ... Bethany dragging Chelsea in by the arm of coarse. The walked up to the counter, only to be greeted by a little old lady who oddly resembled Bethany's grandmother back at home in the U.S. The lady seemed very friendly.
"Hi! Welcome to the Sacred Café! How may I help you?" The lady stated with a smile that almost made Bethany want to hug her considering the fact that she resembled her grandmother back at home who was sick and living with Alzheimer's Disease. She missed the person that her grandmother used to be, although she still holds onto the idea that her grandmother's old personality is still inside her new grandmother. There was so many things that she had wanted to talk to her grandmother about, but couldn't because she knew that her grandmother would not understand her anymore. She almost wanted to cry, but stopped herself.
"Hi! I just saw your "help wanted" sign on the fron of your store, ad was wondering if I could pick up an application? I really like the place you have here. It's so cute, and neat!" exclaimed Bethany as she tried to pull herself back together.
"Well, thank you for your kind words! I do love my little shop here. All of these recipes for different types of coffee that you see up here, those are all of my grandmother's special recipes. I think I like you already." said the old lady.
"Here you go." She said as she found an application.
"Thanks!" Bethany said with a smile.
"I'll return it in a few minutes." Bethany said as she found a table to sit at.
Chelsea stood in front of the counter, and decided that she wanted to get something from this place.
"Hey Bethany!"
"Yeah?"
"I'm going to get something from here. Do you want something too?" said Chelsea as she walked over towards Bethany.
"No thank you. I'm still full from all of those sweets that we tried at that desert palace." said Bethany with a laugh.
Chelsea just shrugged her shoulders and walked back up to the counter.
"Hi! Can I have the Vanilla laté with the Almond Milk?" asked Chelsea.
"Sure! Anything for a hopefully new employee and her friend." smiled the old lady.
"I'm finished!" exclaimed Bethany as she handed her application sheet to the lady.
"You ready?"
"Yeah. Hold on. Just let me get my coffee." Chelsea stated as she gave the lady some money. Chelsea thanked the lady. And with that, they walked out of the shop, and back to their apartment. End of chapter 1
First chapter done! I'm kind of new at writing stories, let alone fanfictions so only constructive criticism please! Also, I know there is a few spelling errors, but I will worry about that later. Thanks to my coauthor Chelsea for helping me write this! We love One Direction! Also, the places in London that we mention in this story are actual places in London. A few things have been changed about them, but other than that, we do not mean any harm. We own nothing in thus story.
