CHAPTER 1
The New Girl

"try mo nga tanggalin yan"

"ayoko nga!" reklamo ko dahil pinipilit niyang tanggalin mask ko

"mysterious naman neto"

I rolled up my eyes upon hearing what he said nung tumalikod siya. I hate people who want to force me on something I don't want. But still, he was my sunshine despite all of that.

He's Spear. I have a crush on him since the start of school year. He's really a nonchalant kind of a guy, kaya sometimes ay nage-effort pa ako gumawa ng topic para lang bumuka lang yung bunganga niya.

Siya yung lalaking hindi pasok sa standards ko, but out of nowhere, I really like him. Some people says it is a true love when you found and love someone na 'di pasok sa inaasahan mong standards, like yung nagustuhan mo siya kasi gusto mo.

"Punta ka sa bahay bukas ha, sama mo si Nikki" I nodded in what Spear said. I used to visit his house with Nikki-my girl bff whose the vice president in our classroom-and do some projects there tuwing sabado kasi yan lang ang free time/day ko which is my day-off sa work.

Habang kumakain kami ng snacks ay 'di ko mapipigilang 'di videohan mga sarili namin kaya't hiniram ko ang cellphone ni Nikki para mag time lapse video. Sa paguwi ko, I added it on my stories sa Ig and Fb. They were fun to be with kahit ang awkward nga minsan kasi they were a serious type of person, hindi kagaya ko na puro kagagahan lang ang palaging naiisip.

I wear a white dress with a yellow glazy cloth on my shoulder as well as a white 1-inch heel. Buwan ng wika kasi ngayon and require ang pagsusuot ng mga dresses like kimona ang barong. There are lots of foods sa bawat lakad namin ni Nikki sa hallway - she insisted me na samahan ko siya pagala-gala sa school- and yung ibang pagkain pa nga ay nakadisplay pa sa labas and yung iba naman ay nasa loob ng classroom nila. Nang sa mapagod kami sa paglalakad ay bumalik nalang kami sa classroom namin para magpahinga.

I wasn't exhausted at that time so parang naglalaro nalang ako sa sahig kasama yung isang kaklase ko.

"Mantha, halika nga dito" saad ni Spear sa 'kin habang nakaupo sa bandang teacher's desk. I approach him and asked

"Ano yun?"

"Tumalikod ka nga" ginawa ko din naman yung sinabi niya without hesitation. I flinched a bit when he reach onto my shoulder and fix my glazy yellow cloth. While he's fixing it, some of our classmates took a gaze on us and have a smirks on their faces.

"Okay na, tumagilid kasi medyo" ani ni Spead, I faced him at nagpasalamat. Kinilig ako slight pero I need to make a straight face as much as possible. Nang lumabas kaming lahat sa room para manood sa sayawang nagaganap ay bigla namang umapproach sa 'kin si Spear at inayos ang cloth na nakasabit sa shoulder ko.

"Eeee~~ Ehem ehem" ani ni Cari habang nakatingin sa 'min

"Tumigil ka nga dyan may inaayos nga lang ganyan reaksyon mo" sambat ko kay Cari. She just laughed at me and left so she can watch the dance competition.

"Thankies" sabi ko kay Spear at umalis para makinuod na rin. I felt the butterflies in my stomach. I mean, that was one of my favorite love language, the act of service. The day ended up so great, nabusog ako sa lahat ng kabibohang nagaganap pero sa handang pagkain ay hindi. I always wear a face mask since I was in Grade 9 because I was really insecure sa mukha ko. I really hate my fat-ass cheeks and my wrecking teeth. I would sacrifice every meals pag may mga handa dito sa room para 'di lang mahubad yung face mask ko.

"Hello Section St. Vincent, I have someone to introduce" ani nung guidance counselor na agad ikinatahimik ng lahat.

"This is Deiga, a transferee. Your new classmate to be precise" ani ni Ma'am Caveer. I checked up on the transferee, my first impression at her is that she was a shy-type - and the type of who doesn't want to make an eye contact to anyone - person. The guidance counselor instructed us about how we should and must treat her with equal and respect, and so we did naman.

"Hi! Ano pangalan mo?" Spear asked when he approach the new girl that is sitting on the front seat. Spear were always friendly and approachable yet a bit intimidating since he was the classroom president.

"Deiga Mae" sagot nung transferee. Napansin kong medyo sumimangot ang mukha ng nasa tabi ko which is si Drai - my gay bff - kaya't agad akong naconcern sa kaniya.

"Okay ka lang?" tanong ko

"Ang unfair kaya, nung trumansfer ako dito 'di man lang ako binati ng ganyan"

"Selos ka lang no?"

"Hmp!" agad akong natawa sa reaksyon niya. Drai has a big crush on Spear since he transferred here. Well, Spear is quite a cool kind of a man if I were to be asked. Spear is also a short-tempered person, but I chose to understand that side of him.

The day ended like usual, our adviser, Ms. Difilez, announced that there will be a friday mass tomorrow and required talaga na nandoon na kami sa church as early as 7AM. After a long sleep, I prepared my self to wear a complete uniform so perfect ako sa uniform attendance. I arrived there, in the church, 6:40 palang ay nandoon and yes, early talaga ako pumupunta whether it may be in school or anywhere.
