Waiting For You || Taekook

Chapter 5

Past-

Currently Jungkook was practicing a song. His college is gonna host a spring festival in the next month. As he's from the music club, his club is gonna take care of the whole music entertainment part. And that's why they're gonna sing so many songs in the festival. Last day the leaders splited songs between the members. Jungkook got parts from three songs. Club leaders told them to memorised some song lyrics. And today they'll told them who's gonna be their partner in singing.

Last week after selection, Jungkook didn't see Taehyung again. He was a club leader but he didn't come to any club meeting or stuffs till now. His behaviour was so strange. But Jungkook is not going to say anything like as always. The more he can stay away from difficult humans, the more he can find peace. But it's not like he never thought even for once that it would be good if Taehyung and him could be friends. But does that matter though?

Jungkook was walking through the corridor. He don't have any classes till three hours from now but today his club leaders told them to come a bit early so that they can discuss about singing partner.

After walking for some more few minutes, Jungkook went inside of their club room. Most of the club member were already there including Taehyung. He greeted Jimin, Hobi and Yoongi which were given back with a smile. Jimin gave Jungkook a sit beside him which was opposite of Taehyung. Soon their discussion started.

- "So everyone as you all know about that the spring festival is knocking at the door. And we need to start our preparations as soon as possible cause music is one of the most important part of a festival. And we need to bang it. And today we're here for telling you all your singing partner. As we took auditions and many other stuffs, we all know about you all's voice nicely. So were gonna tell you all's partner's name one by one now." Hobi said.

Jimin looked at the list which was in his hand and started saying the partners name.

- "Euzy, Ryan and Bam group 1. Mila, Minzi with Herun group 2. Nash, yuri,....."Jimin continued saying.

- "And lastly the special performance will be done by Jungkook and Taehyung." Jimin said.

Jungkook immediately thought this will a bad idea. What if Taehyung and him mess up because of their own invisible problems? So he decided to change his partner.

- "Umm Jimin hyung?"

- "Yes Jungkookie?"

- "Can I not perform the special performance? What if I mess up?" Jungkook said.

- "Oh Jungkookie the special performance is nothing but like other normal performance. We're calling it special because you and Tae,  you both who got the best voices among us will be singing it together. So obviously it's special." Jimin said.

- "Still hyung."

- "Jungkookie don't be afraid. You and Taehyung will rock it together. I really can't wait to see you both performing together. Also Taehyung is gonna help you whenever you need. So don't worry and keep faith on yourself! What do you say Tae?" Hobi said.

Jungkook looked at Taehyung who was looking at somewhere else.

- "Hmm. It's fine." Taehyung said with a emotionless face.

'He must be annoyed' Jungkook thought. But before Jungkook can deny to sing with Tae again, Yoongi talked up .

- "So that was it. Please keep contact with your partner and keep practicing your songs. I'll sent the details about who'll sing which song by tonight. Bye everyone."

And everyone started going back from their clubroom while discussing with their partners.

Jungkook hurriedly went to Jimin and stopped him.

- "Hyung, I wanted to say something to you." Jungkook said.

- "Oh sure Jungkookie. Go ahead."

- "Umm hyung actually I can't perform with Taehyung-shi."

- "Oh Jungkookie. You told that already. But can you tell me the real reason behind this?"

- "Hyung I'm so sorry it's a bit personal. And I'm also sorry for not telling you this. But can you please change my partner? Please hyung? Neither me and Taehyung-shi will be comfortable to perform together"

- "Jungkookie I already told you the reasons behind choosing you both together. And I don't think someone else can match with your voice properly. Perhaps I should try talking with Taehyung? What do you say?"

- "I don't think it'll be a good idea. He doesn't want to perform with me." Jungkook hesitated.

- "Oh Jungkookie don't be so sure. You don't know that yet. I'll talk with him and tell you. Okay? Don't worry!"

- "Okay hyung" Jungkook sighed.

Later that day after his all classes, Jungkook was about to go home when he got a text from an unknown number.

"Meet me at the rooftop before going home."

'Who could be this?' Jungkook thought. He went to the rooftop and saw it empty.

'Perhaps it was a joke? Someone joked with me? But this place is so peaceful. Better I found out already.' Jungkook murmured.

But today he was feeling a bit tired. So he turned to the door and saw someone entering.

'Taehyungie hyung? What's he doing here?'

Taehyung came forward and looked at him. Same those dark eyes which always makes Jungkook lost.

'He will probably hate me for seeing here' Jungkook thought. He looked down and hurriedly walked to the door to go out from the roof.

"Stop"Taehyung said.

Jungkook stopped at his own place.

- "Did I tell you that I don't want to perform with you?" Taehyung again said.

Now Jungkook faced Taehyung. He looked in his eyes directly and said,

- "No you didn't. But you told me to avoid you as much as I can." Jungkook said.

Taehyung paused for a moment. And again said,

- "I don't have any problem to perform with you. So we're doing this."

This made Jungkook a bit furious.

- "But I don't want to." Jungkook said.

- "Why you don't want to?" Taehyung asked.

- "D-did you tell me that why you suddenly told me to ignore you?" Jungkook said with so much courage making Taehyung speechless.

Taehyung looked away from Jungkook and said,

- "Listen I'm doing this just because of the club. Nothing else. So don't argue with me about this. And tomorrow at ten pm, two hours before your class starts, meet me here. Don't forget to bring your guitar with you."

And Taehyung left from the place without giving Jungkook any chance to say anything.

Jungkook stood their dumbfounded. He got bullied in his high school days. He was always a person who loves to be quite. He never liked to argue or quarrel. That's why he used to got bullied in his early days of his high school. But when everything became unbearable, he started protesting back. He gradually won. It wasn't like Jungkook became a bad boy or something. He's still the calm and quiet boy. But nobody dared to mess with him anymore.

But after years again a human named "Kim Taehyung" started commanding him. And Jungkook can't even argue with him properly for some unknown reasons. This irritates Jungkook a lot.

- "Rat" Jungkook cursed Taehyung and went back to home.
