"JEEZ THIS SEEMS SERIOUS."

All the kids were preparing for the capture the flag game. For camp it was the most serious thing ever. Mainly to June. She used this game every year to try and prove herself to not just her father but herself as well.

June was walking with Luke, showing Percy the campers training and telling him about it.

"You're gonna love this. Camp-wide mock warfare, all glory to the victors." Luke walked with June and Percy.

"Jeez, this seems serious.." Percy said, looking at all the campers.

"Annabeth's the head counselor of the Athena cabin." June smiled and nudged Percy to look at Annabeth.

"She's led our team to three straight wins." Luke said proudly.

"Been a long time since anyone's won a fourth." June bounced off of Luke's proudness.

"She was there in the bathroom, with you." Percy said, looking at June then at Annabeth.

"She said that both of you had been waiting for it to happen." Percy looked back at June. June stopped walking and stood infront of Percy.

"Look, Annabeth sees the world differently. Okay, she's like six steps ahead of everyone else." June crossed her arms.

"You should cut her a break." Luke said to Percy. Percy looked at Annabeth, then spoke.

"Whose side are you on, anyway?" Percy asked Luke.

"Oh, hers, always. She's my little sister." Luke said. Percy was taken slightly aback.

"What about you, June?" Percy turned to June.

"Sorry? Oh yeah annabeths she's my best friend." June smiled. She looked like she wasn't really paying attention but she shrugged it off like she was just tired.

"Maybe I should...back up.." Luke said. Starting to walk away.

June rolled her eyes and followed Luke with Percy.

"Here we go."

"WHAT DOES THAT MEAN, FORBIDDEN?"

They were sitting down at a table by the shore, June Luke and Percy.

"Before camp, I was on the road. Me and a forbidden kid I met along the way. Her name was Thalia." Luke said, his eyes went down to look at the table and June looked to the side, her eyes squinting slightly.

"And what does that mean, forbidden?" Percy asked. Looking between June and Luke.

"A long time ago, Zeus, Poseidon, and Hades agreed their children were becoming too powerful," Luke said, June continued his sentence.

"So they made a pact not to father any more...and it held for a long time, until Zeus broke that pact." June looked down. She wanted to say 'and so did hades.' But she didnt want to talk about it. Not yet at least. She didnt want to scare Percy away or something stupid.

"Until Thalia." Luke said, a small smile on his face as he mentioned the name.

"A forbidden kid attracts trouble. Monsters everywhere, it's just...it's a constant battle to stay alive." June said. She wasn't with Luke and Thalia and Annabeth when all that happened happened but she knew the costs of a forbidden kid. And she hated it.

"One day, we, uh...find this little girl hiding in an alley. Annabeth. We were worried about taking her in, exposing her to all that danger." Luke drew a smile on his face.

"Then they saw her fight." June chuckled softly and looked at Percy then back at Luke.

"That's right." Luke's smile fell fast. "Thalia didn't make it." Luke sighed. June looked down then back up, like it hurt to talk about it.

"But...Annabeth and him...they did. And they've been family ever since." June smiled softly.

Percy thought about it for a moment then turned to look at June. "She's been watching me since I got here. Why?"

"Annabeth is the strongest warrior in camp. The only way left to prove herself is to go on a quest." Luke crossed his arms on the table. Percy furrowed his eyes.

"And what does this have to do with me. And what about you?" Percy turned to June.

"Hey, I wanna prove myself too but I'm just following annabeths steps. She's smart." June raised her hands in a surrendering manner and laughed.

"Chrions been promising her for years. One day, a demigod would arrive who was fated to go on a quest that even chiron couldn't prevent. And when that happened, she could join it."

"Yeah and since then, every new arrival, Annabeth watches them, looking for a sign they're the one. And usually she gives up after a day or two but it seems like you have given her hope because she's still watching you." June nudged Percy.

"Well, can you ask her to knock it off?" He asked June. June rolled her eyes.

"Well yeah but-" June was cut off by Luke.

"What if she's right?" Luke and Percy stared at eachother for a second which made June give them an awkward look. Then the conch shell blew, June looked up at Chiron.

"Heroes..." Chiron said, looking at his pocket watch then back up at the demi gods. "It's time. The game begins."
