Marcus turned to the others when Ms. Morgan went upstairs. He still couldn't make up his mind about what to think of her. His intel on Regina was very thorough. He saw photos of her in her uniform and she looked like a completely different person. He couldn't believe that the woman, about whom he'd read awful articles and the woman who was in front of him a minute ago was one and the same. The group of descendants who knew about Marsikons trailed her a couple of times, but no one had told him that she was so rude!

How they could withhold this information was beyond him. Maybe for another person, it wouldn't matter, but for him... If he knew that she was so hot-tempered, he would've risked going straight to her father. Maybe they would be contained at first, but he had a suspicion that the Senator would believe them sooner and they would be already on their way to the President.

And now he was stuck with her, and she was his only key to accomplish their mission. Marcus needed to be extra careful not to let her under his skin. A worthy rule kept his emotions under control, or so he'd been taught. Good thing, too, because everyone had their talents, and hers was provoking the people around her.

She was beautiful, he could see it, even with no makeup and her long, slightly curly hair was flying all over her head like she hadn't brushed it for a couple of days. She had light brown skin, hazel eyes, high cheekbones, and full lips. On any other woman, he'd have found her foul language repulsive, but it somehow only added to her charm.

He'd have to be doubly careful around her.

Kos opened their beer with a knife, which he was hiding in his suit.

"What do you think?" Marcus asked them.

Darius took a sip, looked at the bottle, saying, "I like her. And this beer too."

Kos also took a sip, "I don't trust her. She agreed too fast. And she was acting strangely."

Marcus gave his bottle to Darius, who already drank the whole bottle. He wanted to stay sober. "Yes, it was too fast. I don't know what to think of her. I only hope that she'll help us because she's our only chance."

"I have only one question, brothers," Darius hugged him and Kos by the shoulders, standing in between, "how the four of us will fit in our super-mega-eco-car?"

"Shit," Kos closed his eyes.

Marcus didn't like it either. He was embarrassed for his fast choice, but if he said it to them, he would hear about this till his last days.

"Come on, it wasn't so bad," he said instead.

They laughed at him, with Darius punching him in the belly. It was good to laugh, and some of the tension lifted from his shoulders.

They sat on the sofa and waited for her to come downstairs. While they waited, they heard the water running somewhere upstairs, and when it was running too long, Marcus thought that she somehow slipped away from them. But then it stopped, and he heard footsteps coming down.

She was dressed in clothes that even Martians couldn't have worn. Her jeans were like one big hole; it was rather a hole with jeans and not jeans with holes. Her top was military green under an opened military shirt couple of sizes too big. And it seemed that she forgot to wear a bra. Marcus quickly averted his gaze and felt himself blush. He was raised as not to stare at a woman like that. Only after marriage could he see a woman in so little of clothes. And only if she'd let him.

But what he saw next, made him almost gasp with shock. He raised his eyes to her head and saw there something horrible. A couple of minutes ago she had long dark brown hair fanned around her shoulders, and now it was coiled into something messy right at the top of her head.
