I know the end

Y/n

I sighed as I continued editing my upcoming album that I was no longer excited to put out

The endless hours were draining me and my label wanted it out tonight and I was no where near finished nor ready to put it out

but it is what it is
anyways

I slammed my computer shut out of anger and took a deep breath before screaming
damn I should've put that on an album
that scream was so blood curdling and anger filled it was kind of fitting for the album

I hopped in the recording studio and grabbed the auto recorder before putting on my headphones

I screamed the way I just had a few times before I got out and chose the one that was the best

I uploaded it to the album as the last song then titled it "I know the end"
then I started writing

The song was just filler so it was short but I loved writing it for some reason

Once I was finished I hopped back into the studio and started singing the lyrics multiple times so I could get a sense of what the vibe would give and to see if this should actually go onto the album
and it worked

Once I finished I stepped out and started playing tracks for the song

A few hours later it was finished and the album was completed

now I know this might not fly with the label but I put the album out on my own without their knowledge or the fact that there was an extra track on it as well

And within a few minutes of course I know the end was blowing up and all over instagram

I smiled and sighed deeply before heading home for the night

A few months later
———————-
I was now going on tour and I was so nervous
but, I was touring with my best friend
Kehlani.
I couldn't have asked for a better singer than her to be an opener

We met a long time ago when we were both little babies in the industry.
She blew up before I did because my writing style was far different than what it is now but I'm here, at a level of famousness that I still can't believe is real

We were staring in both of our hometowns'
Oakland,CA
and ending in Houston
I was nervous because tour last time was stressful and things ended badly when I had broken up with my old guitarist and I had tons of backlash but now we're better and the band has a stronger bond

Anyways

Keh and I had picked out our outfits for the night and I was now sitting on keh's lap doing her makeup

"It's looking really good y/n"
I smiled and thanked her before continuing what I was previously doing

Soon after I finished keh's makeup I started on mine then put my hair up since it can get hot in the arena sometimes and I wanted to be comfortable

After hair and makeup we put on our outfits and headed to the stage

We got out mics hooked up and got the greenlight
We both ran out and fans were howling

Keh opened the show with nights like this and then we sang back together
we continued with the set list until we got to I know the end

"Somewhere in Germany, but I can't place it
Man, I hate this part of Texas
Close my eyes, fantasize
Three clicks and I'm home
When I get back I'll lay around
Then I'll get up and lay back down
Romanticize a quiet life
There's no place like my room
But you had to go
I know, I know, I know
Like a wave that crashed and melted on the shore
Not even the burnouts are out here anymore
And you had to go
I know, I know, I know
Out in the park, we watch the sunset
Talking on a rusty swing set
After a while you went quiet and I got mean
I'm always pushing you away from me
But you come back with gravity
And when I call, you come home
A bird in your teeth
So I gotta go
I know, I know, I know
When the sirens sound, you'll hide under the floor
But I'm not gonna go down with my hometown in a tornado
I'm gonna chase it
I know, I know, I know
I gotta go now
I know, I know, I know
Driving out into the sun
Let the ultraviolet cover me up
Went looking for a creation myth
Ended up with a pair of cracked lips
Windows down, scream along
To some America First rap, country song
A slaughterhouse, an outlet mall
Slot machines, fear of God
Windows down, heater on
Big bolts of lightning hanging low
Over the coast, everyone's convinced
It's a government drone or an alien spaceship
Either way, we're not alone
I'll find a new place to be from
A haunted house with a picket fence
To float around and ghost my friends
No, I'm not afraid to disappear
The billboard said, "The end is near"
I turned around, there was nothing there
Yeah, I guess the end is here
The end is here
The end is here
The end is here
The end is here"
