━ 𝐝𝐞𝐬𝐜𝐫𝐢𝐩𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 : sybil is a shortish man standing at five foot seven. his body is lean, yet fit enough to get his job done. the most notable part of him is his short light pink hair with strands of purple highlights; seemingly with his brown roots showing. sybil's red eyes are cat like holding a boredom similar to his boss'. his angular face further adding to his 'cat' like qualities. due to his dedication to his work, he is rarely ever seen without the proper clothes for it. however, that doesn't change the fact he has a preference for darker more muted colors. ━ 𝐟𝐚𝐬𝐡𝐢𝐨𝐧 : business suits or business casual, no in-between ━ 𝐭𝐚𝐭𝐭𝐨𝐨𝐬 : n/a ━ 𝐬𝐜𝐞𝐧𝐭 : warm roses ━ 𝐯𝐨𝐢𝐜𝐞 : boyish and not so deep. serious in nature, whiney in spirit ━ 𝐨𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐫 : sybil usually wears golden string earings unless he is out doing a job.
𝗣𝗘𝗥𝗦𝗢𝗡𝗔𝗟 ━ 𝐨𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐚𝐥𝐥 : believe it or not, sybil is an extremely warm and considerate man. it's just really hard to get to it because he likes to run people off with a more serious snarky demeanor if they even try to get too close. his co-workers can vouch for his traits more akin to leadership. he is an honest mentor, and isn't at all afraid to tell it how it is. when it comes to field work he is the first to reiterate the orders the boss gave, and improvise where it's needed. they could also agree that he is the utter definition of a workaholic; as they can recall a time he took a one minute nap after a mission before waking up to draft up plans for a new one (he got a very needed talking to when word got to his boss). his co-workers often wonder why sybil keeps the position he's in. he has proved more then once that he's capable of so much better - he practically runs the show! - yet sybil is quick to shut them down. he's isn't there to gain 'brownie points' in the underground. he truly believes in what his boss is doing, and is determined to see them succeed. ━ 𝐦𝐨𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬 : to shatter the foundations of the elite, to get revenge for his parents ━ 𝐟𝐞𝐚𝐫𝐬 : failing, death ━ 𝐥𝐢𝐤𝐞𝐬 : coffee, puzzles, planning, praise, acknowledgement, tidiness, his boss, woodcarving ━ 𝐝𝐢𝐬𝐥𝐢𝐤𝐞𝐬 : show-offs, whining, annoyances, snitches, dishonesty, disorganization, being unprepared ━ 𝐬𝐤𝐢𝐥𝐥𝐬 : sybil is praised for his agileness in both mind and body. however, his strength is subpar compared to most superhumans. the powers he has allow him to attach invisible strings to whatever he touches; allowing him to control it for a limited time (much like a puppeteer). for example, if he was to attach a string to someone's arm - he could only control that arm - and if that arm were to take damage he could feel every bit of it; but if he were to attach a string to a object - like a doll - he could freely control it and not feel the drawbacks if it were to take damage.
𝗕𝗔𝗖𝗞𝗚𝗥𝗢𝗨𝗡𝗗 ━ 𝐡𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐨𝐫𝐲 : born as the only child to a lower class family, sybil knows what struggle is like. his mother was disabled unable to work, his father a down on his luck carpenter with a love for woodcarving. there were plenty of times sybil overheard them worrying about what to do for the month due his father's inability to find work, but that didn't stop their love for each other and young sybil. it was when his powers started to show that everything changed. he was simply messing with his father's old woodcarved puppets before he saw a spider like web on his fingers. disgusted, he tried swatting it away only for the puppet to suddenly be thrown. young sybil was terrified. clearly, the old puppets from his father's childhood were possessed by some malevolent ghost (he was watching a horror movie the night before), and he quickly ran to his mother in a panic. it was only when they both went back together that sybil was able to repeat it that they both realized something was going on. sybil was ecstatic when he learnt he had powers. he was never one to ask his parents for something, but finally he had something to show the other kids at school. it only became a problem when the teachers caught him showing off. word was quick to go around the meyers' had a kid with powers; and soon enough the information fell into the wrong ears. his parents were harassed into making sybil join a more suitable school by officials before they were eventually killed for not wanting to sell off their only son to those same men in suits. it didn't take long for that very same harassment to land on sybil. letters, debt, bankruptcy, they made quick work on making him just a shell of a man for the sake of using him. sybil was on the cusp of giving up until he saw the news about someone who went by the name of ever. he heard of their escapades and never felt more seen. this was what he was looking for. it took him four years to reach the top. he's changed in many ways compared to how he was in the past, but one things is certain. he doesn't want to look back.
𝗧𝗥𝗜𝗩𝗜𝗔 ━ 𝐝𝐚𝐭𝐞 𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐫𝐭𝐞𝐝 : 3/3/2024 ━ 𝐝𝐚𝐭𝐞 𝐟𝐢𝐧𝐢𝐬𝐡𝐞𝐝 : 3/23/2024 ━ 𝐟𝐮𝐧 𝐟𝐚𝐜𝐭𝐬 : ╺ the start date isn't a lie, i was typing sybil up knowing he was going to be a boss obsessed henchmen and started wondering how his boss was even like. needless to say, everett came first before i came back to finish him. :')
╺ originally inspired by Puppet Loosely Strung by The Correspondents, sybil was going to be a rich kid who was influenced into being a villian's henchmen by the villian himself. needless to say, there were some changes.
╺ it is very much not 'in the past', he is taking his resentment to the grave!! (referring to the quote i put down at the beginning)
╺ his earrings were once his mom's.
╺ i like to think the people sybil has used his powers on feel alien limb for a while before it goes back to normal.
╺ the reason he could feel when a person is hurt and not an object is simply because of nerves! the strings he produces from his fingers like to attach directly to the nerves. it's for this reason that he could see out of a person's eyes (if he touches their head), but not out of an object's eyes/camera!
╺ his strings fade ten seconds after their disattachment. he is limited to at least ten at a time. with a person he is able to be pretty far, but with an object he'll have to be close enough to see where he is going.
