At the Roy Mansion:

After a long discussion about Holika Dahan and Holi, the household finally dispersed to their respective activities. Just as peace settled, Ishita and Yn came downstairs, ready to leave. But of course, peace never lasts long in this house.

Yn's POV,

Just as we were about to leave, A/M (Ansh's mom) stopped us,

A/M: "Yn beta, tu aise hi jayegi kya?" Yn dear, will you go like this?

Yn(In confusion): "Kyun aunty, yeh dress achi nahi lag rahi hai?" Why Aunty, this dress doesn't look good?

A/M: "Beta, dress to acchi hai, par tera mangalsutra kahan hai? Aur tune sindur bhi nahi lagaya." Beta, the dress is nice, but where is your mangalsutra? And you didn't even apply vermilion.

Yn: "Aunty, main kyu sindoor lagao? Main yeh shaadi nahi maanta!" (I shot a glare at Tae, my so-called 'husband.') Aunty, why should I apply vermillion? I don't agree with this marriage.

A/M (Calmly): "Mano ya na mano, par shaadi to tumhari hui hai na. Aur shaadi koi khel nahi hai. Toh jao, mangalsutra pehno aur sindoor lagakar aao." Believe it or not, but you are married. And marriage is not a game. So go ahead, wear mangalsutra and apply vermillion."

Yn: "Ji aunty," I muttered, frustrating she shot another angry look at Tae. "Chahe jo ho, main yeh shaadi kabhi accept nahi karungi." Yes Aunty, Whatever happens, I will never accept this marriage.

I stomped upstairs, looking for my mangalsutra, only to realize Tae had followed me. Seriously?

I was searching for my Neptune chain when I felt someone's presence. I turned around to find Tae standing there. My heartbeat immediately quickened, and I could feel my cheeks getting warm.

Yn: "What are you doing here?" (I was nervous and tried to act nonchalant.)

Tae: "Why, can't I come?" (He took a step closer.)

Yn: "No, you can't come. This is my room!" (I stammered, my words betraying me.)

Tae: "Relax, I just want to talk."

Yn: "Talk? Seriously, what do you want to talk about now?"

Tae: "Listen, Yn, forgive me. I know it's my fault, but you took me with you. So, it's kind of your fault too."

Yn: "I only took you with me to escape from those bodyguards!"

Ishita: "Yniee, aur kitna time lagega?" (Her voice echoed from downstairs.) How much more time will it take?

Yn: "Ho gaya hai, aa rahi hoon." I said, quickly trying to find my mangalsutra. It's done, I'm coming.

Tae didn't leave, though. He stayed there like an awkward shadow, waiting for me to finish. Finally, I found it and started putting it on, but my hands were shaking. I noticed Tae still standing there, and it made my heart race again.

Yn: "Now, get out of here! Let me do my work!" But of course, Tae noticed I was struggling to wear it.

Tae: "Let me help you," he said, and before I could protest, he gently removed my hand and started to tie the mangalsutra around my neck.

When I felt his touch on my skin, my whole body tensed up. I quickly shut my eyes, feeling a wave of heat rise in me. But he finished anyway and then walked out, leaving me standing there with a mixture of confusion and... something else I couldn't quite place.
