I knew I was home
when I looked into my horses soft brown eyes
She looked at me with kindness
I new I was home
Smelling the raw smell of rain
Watching the clouds roll over like the waves in the sea
I new I was home
Because my beautiful paint horse stood tall as she longed for my return
She whispered a little sigh as I pulled in the driveway
I knew I was home
When I smelt the pie fresh out of the oven
The smell of blueberries throughout the house
I knew I was home
Listening to the coyotes cry to the big night sky
I knew I was home
when the sky was full of stars and not a streetlight in sight
I was home.
