"I would like you to meet.."

"My mommies!"

The boy wiggled free from Sun's hold and ran to where Engfa and Charlotte were.

"I thought I'd never see you guys, I thought you didn't love me enough to come back for me!" The boy sobbed as he held onto both Engfa and Charlotte's legs.

Shock was an understatement of the feeling that the couple felt.

Engfa held the boy up in her arms as Charlotte hugged both of them fiercely.

"Like I said, I'm not your enemy. He's called Charles. Just like you desired Charlotte. The name that is." Sun looked at the trio bawling their eyes out.

"Hate to break the reunion but we have to move out of sight soon. The old geezer put a detail on him. I'm gonna get into trouble either way." Sun started getting anxious.

"You are coming with us. Both of you." Charlotte left no room for discussion as everyone started clearing out of the school's vicinity.

"I knew this would happen but don't worry I have my countermeasures in place, plus I always knew there's a war up ahead." Sun laughed mirthlessly.

Charles nestled himself into Engfa's neck as she carried him to the car. He'd cried so hard that he fell asleep with occasional whimpers.

Sun followed Charlotte's car into an area he'd never knew existed in Bangkok before. No wonder the team could not find Charlotte.
The entry to this estate was low key but on a second look, one could notice the tight security with a discerning eye.

The entourage grinded into a halt on the driveway of a massive house that was shadowed off by trees to keep away prying eyes. Everyone made a beeline into the house much to the shock of everyone else inside the house.

"What in the world is he doing here?" Tina yelled highlighting the collective dismay of Heidi, Nesa, Marima,Chompu and Plaifa who were hanging out in the living area upon Charlotte's request of having everyone over.

Tina suddenly jumped over the chairs and in the blink of an eye had P'Sun in a chokehold against the wall staring madly at him.

"Evil lady, unhand my Papa this instant!" The loud bang had woken Charles up who at this moment wiggled out of Engfa's hold and headed straight with intent to push Tina away from P'Sun.

"Who's the little firecracker?" Heidi asked in surprise.

Everybody wanted to know. Tina was surprised too to have a child in their midst. A fiery one at that.

"Hold on, why is he the spitting image of Engfa when she was little?" Plaifa let her thoughts out loud.

Pause.

"Engfa I have been around you the most, when did you have a child without telling me? " Nesa was the first to speak up.

"Wait." Every eye turned to look at Marima.

"He has Charlotte's features too. I know those ear and nose shapes anywhere in the world."

On a closer look the child did seem to be a mixture of both Engfa and Charlotte.

"When did the two of you have a baby?" Chompu felt this situation was surreal.

"Tina let go of P'Sun." Charlotte sighed.

No movement.

"Please?"

"I am gonna get back at you for all the misery you caused us buddy, just hang on tight after whatever this is." Tina whispered into P'Sun's ear as she threw him back into the wall and let go.

"It's gonna be a long night." Engfa felt the weight of the discussion before it was even underway.

After simmering down all eyes fell on the couple expectantly awaiting a much needed explanation to provide clarity for this situation.

Charles walked back and literally coiled into Charlotte's embrace after ensuring no harm was done to his Papa. This made Charlotte feel so happy and yet so aggrieved all in one.

"The year after graduating university, we kind of disappeared, for a while, you guys remember that?" Engfa asked.

A series of nods affirmed the answer.

"We got married against Nawat's wishes, he ruined our families, chased us down when Char got pregnant so we went into hiding. We were in Cancun for the most part before having to move to a better location for the hospital amenities for easier child birth." Engfa explained with a flat expression, a complete contrast of the rage that was simmering deep within.

"We didn't know that he had connections at the hospital. Immediately after Charlotte gave birth, I had gone to check on her first because the process had been difficult while undergoing the surgery and I had nearly lost her, I was not prioritizing the baby at that point. I felt so scared." Engfa stared up ahead seemingly reliving the nightmare again.

"Before we could even confirm the baby's health or gender, we were surrounded in that hospital room with Nawat's men baring guns. He dragged Engfa away from me, threatening to kill either of them, Engfa or the baby, if we ever dared to get together." Charlotte said, her voice above a whisper.

"That's when you called me." Marima looked at Charlotte processing everything as her best friend had never come clean about what she had gone through. Every time she was closed off as if she wanted to forget everything that had transpired.

"I am sorry Engfa for what I did to you." Sun spoke up suddenly and everyone stared at him in curiosity to find out what he was talking about.

Engfa's eyes darted over to him with undisguised killing intent.

"What did you do to her?" Charlotte's cold voice floated over with equally cold eyes and held Charles tighter than before.

"I understand if you wanna kill me but I will apologize regardless." Sun sighed.

"After we picked Engfa from the hospital, we went to the warehouse."

"The warehouse!!!" Tina exploded.

Everyone felt incensed on Engfa's behalf as they were clear about the misdeeds and special attention that went on in the infamous warehouse.

Charlotte's breathe audibly hitched. Engfa never told her about it.
How much pain had she endured then? Myriad of scenarios came across everyone's minds as they visualized what Engfa had gone through.

"The deep scars on her stomach, back and arms, are those your handiwork?"

Charlotte's eyes pooled with tears and became red rimmed.

Charlotte had seen them when they slept together, she had yet ask before Engfa had told her to wait and she would tell her everything as they had only talked about the recent developments and not what had happened that year.

She had reassured Engfa that she would be patient and that she loved her regardless of what happened to her body.

This debt, she was going to calculate it carefully with everyone involved.

"I know everything I am about to say is going to sound dubious but listen to me." Sun's plea cut across the already tense atmosphere.

"I had been lied to and strung along about the whole situation." Sun sighed again.
