Sarah's POV
What am I doing? I wondered as I walked to my next class. Why am I making friends? He's gonna end up leaving, I might.... My thoughts were interrupted when a hand grabbed mine.
I looked to my left and saw Ryan. I smiled. "Hey," I said.
"Hey." I walked into science class with Ryan on my tail. "So I take it you have Corbett too?" I nodded. I took a seat in the back of the room. Ryan sat to my right. I took out my book and began to read. Ryan touched my arm. "What's wrong?" I shook my head.
"It's nothing," I replied and continued reading, hoping the class would start soon. Luckily for me, it did.
"Good morning, class. Welcome to Biology," Mr. Corbett said. "My TA is passing out the disclosures. Bring them back tomorrow, signed." I sighed. This day couldn't go by any faster? I thought. Not bothering to pay attention to Mr. Corbett's presentation on rules, I opened my book.
Distantly, I heard my name being called; then the snap of a ruler on my desk. My head shot up. I saw Mr. Corbett standing in front of me.
"Y-yes?" I stammered.
He scoffed. "I asked you a question. Would you care to answer, Miss Beth?" He said looking at me sternly.
"Could you repeat the question?" I asked quietly. The class snickered, including Ryan. I shot him a glare.
Mr. Corbett sighed. "Anyone else?" I could feel my face heating up. Just to make matters worse, Danielle Waters raised her hand. "Yes, Danielle?"
Danielle smirked. "The answer is yes."
I groaned inwardly. I still didn't know what was going on.
"What's going on with you today?" Ryan asked as we walked out of class.
"Nothing's wrong. I just got a lot on my mind." I continued walking, determined to get to my best class. I had changed my mind, I didn't want to tell him; not yet.
"Come on," he grabbed my hand and have it a light squeeze. "You know you can tell me."
I smiled at him with the best smile I could muster.
"It's nothing." He looked at me. I rolled my eyes, "Seriously, Ryan. It's nothing really."
He nodded, "Okay. I trust you." I sighed softly. It was gonna be hard to tell him. I knew I wouldn't be able to that day.
