Currently, my family members and I are gathered in the TV room, we make it a habit to always gather together while talking about what we have gone through in our daily lives. While everyone was focused on watching the talk show, I remembered about the talent audition opened by one of the leading agencies in South Korea.
I considered whether I should talk about it now or later, but if later I was afraid of running out of quota to register because the quota provided was quite limited. Finally after considering it I intended to talk about it now.
"hm, eve want to talk mah pah" i said asking permission to my parents, father, mother and my two brothers immediately focused their eyes on me. honestly i was still a little hesitant and afraid to say it, afraid that dad would disagree and get angry with me.
"Yes ve, what do you want to talk about, just tell me stories like usual" said my father who was ready to hear what I wanted to say, because usually I never ask permission to talk, if it's like this it means there are serious things to talk about.
"Well, Eve saw an announcement about the registration of a talent search competition from one of the leading agencies in South Korea. And eve intends to ask permission to take part in the competition, eve wants to become an actress" I said while looking at the faces of my father and mother, I saw their expressions that were surprised. The expressions of my two brothers were equally surprised after hearing what I said.
"eve you don't joke well, being an actress is not an easy thing, moreover you will live alone in a foreign country, anyway dad doesn't agree with your decision, you can realize your dreams other than being an actress or being an idol" said my father firmly, I saw from the tone of his voice that had risen, which made me a little afraid to answer him.
"But, you know that I really like acting" I replied to my father while giving him a reassuring look.
"It's up to you, the point is that I don't agree if you take part in the contest" said my father finally, after saying that he immediately left the TV room to his room.
I saw my mother and my two brothers asking for their opinions, all of them were silent while looking at me, I felt intimidated by the gaze of my second brother Aldo, he was not a person who was able to go against his father's will, he even abandoned his dreams just to realize what his father wanted. Being an architect was his dream, but he had to bury his dream because his father did not agree with his decision.
He now works as a dentist, in accordance with what his father wants. But I'm different from my brother, I don't want to bury my dreams just because my father doesn't approve, I don't want to be like aldo who sacrificed his dreams just to realize his father's dream.
"Do you really want to be an actress?" asked Ka Vero.
"Yes , I want to, I've been dreaming of this for a long time, but I don't dare to tell you guys, because you will definitely not agree, especially dad. But, I don't want to lose this opportunity," I said confidently.
"Mom was surprised when you said that, but mom also can't forbid you, this is your dream, you have the right to pursue it. Mother will try to talk to father, so that he will understand" said mother giving me support.
"Yes, mom."
A few days later......
This was the day of the competition, I was now in one of the hotels in Jakarta where the audition was held. I'm still sticking to my decision, I haven't even gotten permission from my father about this. But, there was mom and ka vero who supported me which made me confident to join this audition.
The audition process went smoothly, there were many contentants who were very talented in their respective fields, some were singing, dancing, acting, and modeling. I was hesitant to continue this audition because the other contestants had a lot of experience and were qualified, while I only had a little experience.
But who would have thought that I passed, and could continue to the next process. In the next 3 days I have to fly to South Korea to continue my trainee mass.
