POV: Shadow

"Hey, Hun!"

I mentally cursed as I wasn't exactly pleased to see Rouge but I had to maintain my work demeanour.

"Welcome, what can I get you today?"

"I'm sure you know what I want.~"

My expression remained blank as she sighed and ordered properly. As I grabbed the cups and a pen, she stopped my hand.

"Can I write the name? Please?"

"Ugh, fine."

It wasn't like the cafe was busy today. My colleague was leaning at the side, smirking at his phone. She scribbled something that clearly wasn't her name and handed the cups back to me.

"Thanks, Hun."

I gritted my teeth and went to make her drinks. It felt daft to yell the name out when there was only one customer. However, work rules are rules.

I stared down at the cup. 'appiness'?

"Order for a pe- Damn you!"

Screw it. Rouge was cackling as I stormed over to her with the two cups. It wasn't like my colleague was even paying attention.

"Happy April Fools'!"

"Haha. What a wonderfully ridiculous event to be celebrated. Shall I indulge in the occasion too by chucking this at you?"

April Fools'. A time where the morning is wasted on idiotic antics.

"Anyways, why have you bought two cups?"

"Oh, the other one is for my fellow business partner. We had our grand opening today-"

"A joke shop?"

"Hah, no. It's a cosmetic store."

"What's it called?"

"Rouge & Roses. Maybe you should go there some time with Christina."

She grinned at me while I groaned at the mention.

"Please don't."

"Why not? She wants to marry you so much seeing as she lurves you so much, doesn't she?~"

"Tsk. The only thing she 'lurves' is the cash."

Rouge looked around. "Still no sign of her?"

"Nope. And good riddance."

I had purposely put on a new persona, bought an apartment and took on a job as a barista to avoid her. It was already torture having to put up with her during our modelling sessions. If I had stayed at the mansion, her continuous chatter would have driven me up to space.

"If you don't like her, why don't you tell her?"

"Ah, yes, I'll tell someone who can't hear over her own fantasies. How come I didn't think of that before?"

"Hm..."

She had that look.

"What are you planning?"

"I have an idea."

"Really? I thought you were humming a tune." I rolled my eyes and asked wearily, "Enlighten me."

"Simple: You'll date someone."

Oh dear Chaos....

"No."

"It'll be something visual to drive her away."

"How many times do I have to say? Even my father keeps pestering me to-"
