Weird Will

Nico's POV

Will had been acting strange all week, but I hadn't asked why yet. Maybe he would decide to tell me. However, he was now half an hour late to my cabin, so I decided to go and meet him in his own.

If something was wrong, he would tell me. And something was definitely wrong.

He had been using the phones Leo had given us, which weren't tracked down by monsters. I'm sure he was using it to contact a mortal, but I didn't know who.

I started heading to cabin 7, which I thought would be empty except for Will, but Austin and Kayla were there instead. Austin was nice but his passion for music made him really annoying while Kayla was a great archer and she was still learning to be a healer so I didn't really mind her.

They saw me and immediately told me that Will wasn't there.

"Do you know where he is though?" I asked quickly, maybe too quickly but hey, my social abilities are bad, okay?

Kayla looked at Austin and they shared a look that could either mean 'No', 'Why didn't anyone tell Nico that Will left camp a week ago and died' or 'Do you think all Italians like spaghetti?'

After I thought about it I realised it was probably the first one.

"He just left like 10 minutes ago. When we asked him where he just said like, to see you. Are you sure you couldn't have crossed?"Kayla answered me.

"I'm sure I would have seen him, but thank you anyways. I'll check the infirmary and maybe afterwards the forest or something."

I waved bye and they waved back.

I mean, I was sure I'd find him soon, he couldn't be gone for so long, right? I was just thinking when I bumped into a girl. Stupid me, I should have looked forwards as I walked.

I mumbled a quick apollo-gy (sorry I had to do it) before realising who it was. Her name was Kate, and everyone thought she was a very annoying Aphrodite child.

I mean I thought the same, specially after she went so much times to the infirmary, asking to speak to Will in private. I was jealous she was getting so much attention from my  Will.

But then she came to me one day and she seemed really nervous. She got informed that everyone would know if she carried on doing what she was. And my friends wouldn't be happy. But I didn't need that.

It turned out that I was wrong. She wasn't Kate, but Kato. And she hadn't tried to flirt with Will, he just had to make Will take note of his special procedure, just in case. He was still closeted, so he didn't want me to go around camp telling everyone.

"Oh, hey Nico!"

"Hi, Kat-"I checked if there was anyone else near. Since there was nobody, I carried on. "-Kato. Have you seen Will around? Like really, I haven't seen him."

"Oh yeah, he's going to your cabin right now, he didn't look very well though."

"Thanks, sorry but I can't stay to chat. I really need to find him."

"It's okay, don't worry," he said while smiling.

I started walking to my cabin, but then it became a quick jog, until I was practically running.

When I arrived he was already there, checking his phone again.
