(Leah's POV)

'Beep..beep..beep' I reached over the side of my bed and turned off my alarm clock. I grabbed my pillow and hugged it to my face. I really don't want to get out of bed. I laid there for a few minutes, close to falling back to sleep when my mother's voice interrupted me.

"C'mon Leah, you don't want to be late," my mom called from downstairs. I groaned in frustration and lazily pushed the covers off of me and got out of bed.

Junior year is here already! It feels like just yesterday I was a small freshman in a big, new school, surrounded by hundreds of kids I didn't know. But hey, I've come a long way and I'm one year closer to graduating and I couldn't be more grateful! At least I get to see my boyfriend, Edward, everyday.

Ed and I have known each other since we were three years old, and we've been inseparable ever since. Just before we started high school, Ed asked me to be his girlfriend, and I've never been happier. Not only was he my boyfriend, but he was my best friend.

I walked over to my closet, grabbed a light blue button-up shirt, a white tank top, denim shorts, and to complete the look, my white converse. I grabbed my clothes and headed down the hallway to the bathroom to get ready for the day.

I took one last glance at myself and decided I looked decent enough and headed downstairs.

When I walked into the kitchen, I saw my mother sitting at the table, coffee cup in front of her, newspaper in her hands.

"Mrs. Anne called and said you could go over there for breakfast." My mom said, lowering the newspaper, smiling up at me.

"Alright. Well I'll see you later then!" I kissed her cheek, grabbed my purse, and walked out the door.

Right when I stepped onto the porch, the humidity hit me right in the face. Ohh the perks of living in the south! At least Ed's house isn't that far of a walk, just 2 houses down.

I sprinted up the long driveway and up to the porch, allowing myself inside.

"Morning everyone!" I screamed when I walked into the house. Just as I closed the door, Ed's mom, Anne, peered around the corner, smiling.

"Well someone's awful cheery this morning." Anne said, walking towards me, pulling me into a hug.

"As always! Where's Ed?" I asked, pulling away from Anne's embrace and looking around the large house.

"I think he's still sleeping. Could you go wake him up? Y'all are going to be late if he decides to sleep any longer." She said laughing, walking back to the kitchen.

I walked up the stairs, and into Ed's room. I slowly opened the door and saw that in fact, he was still sleeping. Shutting the door, I quietly crept over to his bed and sat down on the comfy mattress. God, he even though he's sleeping, he still looks perfect.

"Ed..Eddie, wake up." I whispered in his ear. I gave him a little nudge and his eyes finally fluttered open.

"Good morning, love." He smiled up at me, dimples poking out. Gosh he looked so adorable.

"Morning sleeping beauty. I think it's time to get out of bed, or else we're going to be late for school." I poked his dimple and his smile seemed to get wider.

Just as I was about to get up, Ed wrapped his arms around my waist and pulled me down to where I was practically on top of him. His arms held me tight against him, and my head laid on his chest, and I could hear the beating of his heart. I felt his lips gently brush near my ear, sending small shivers throughout my body.

"I think school can wait a few more minutes." He said as I sighed in content, wanting to do nothing more than stay in this moment forever.

Our moment was interrupted a few minutes later by Ed's mom yelling at us to come downstairs and eat before we were late for school.

"I guess we should get up now.." I said, pulling myself off of Ed.

"Yeah, I guess you're right." A small frown formed on his face as I walked over to his closet and pulled out a white t-shirt and black skinny jeans.

"Thank you, love." Ed said, taking the clothes from my grasp and headed to the bathroom. As he got dressed, I looked around his room. Awards and posters hanging on the walls, trophies on shelves, and pictures on his desk. There were so many pictures of us that we took over the years, and I remember each memory that went with each one.

I picked up a pretty recent picture from when Ed and I went to the beach together; he was carrying me on his back as he walked me down the beach, smiles on both of our faces. That was a good trip that we took the first weekend of summer.

I was too lost remembering our trip to notice Ed was standing behind me, arms wrapped around my waist, head resting on my shoulder.

"I think this is my favorite picture of us." He whispered softly. I could feel heat rising to my cheeks.

"I think it's mine, too." I said, while putting the picture back into its place. I turned around in Ed's embrace, wrapping my arms around his neck and gently began playing with his hair, him humming in appreciation. His sparking emerald eyes burned into my blue ones, making me blush yet again.

"I think we better go downstairs before my mom comes up here and drags us down herself." He let out a small laugh and then grabbed my hand into his much larger one and led me downstairs.

"Well there are my two lovelies! What were you doing up there?" Anne asked, eyeing me and Ed

"Oh nothing mum, it just took me a while to wake up, that's all." He gave his mom an innocent smile and led us to the table.

We quickly ate our breakfast, told Anne goodbye, and walked out the front door towards Ed's car.

"Make good choices!" Anne called from the porch. Ed and I turned to each other and laughed. He opened the passenger door for me and quickly ran to the other side of the car.

"Are you ready, love?" Ed asked, starting the car and pulling out of the driveway.

"As always!" I beamed at him, knowing that this would be a good year because I had him by my side. He reached over and grabbed my hand, running his thumb gently over my knuckles. It's definitely going to be an interesting year, I thought as we made our way to school.
