"So, we need to figure out who's all going on the trip, how we're getting there, how long we're staying, and what supplies we need," Isabella says with a serious expression, her tone all business.
"I mean, I can drive," Blake offers with a casual shrug.
Chad raises an eyebrow. "Wait, Isabella, shouldn't we find out which place we're gonna book first?"
Isabella gives him a confused look. "I already booked a cabin."
"Wait, what?" Sienna interjects, her face twisting with confusion.
"Yeah, I already booked the cabin," Isabella repeats as if it's the most normal thing in the world to book a place without knowing how many people are going.
"Okay...?" Chad says, still skeptical. "So who's actually coming?"
"The people going are gonna be me, you, Sienna, Blake, Violet, Jamal, and Jeremy," Isabella answers, ticking off the names on her fingers.
Chad nods. "Alright, sounds like a squad."
Isabella pulls out her phone and reads off the details of the cabin. "There are bunk beds, so we can pair up. Two rooms with king-sized beds, two rooms with double beds, and two master bedrooms."
Chad doesn't waste time getting into the logistics. "Alright then, I'm bringing my AK-47 with a drum mag and a silencer."
"Why do you even need that?" Isabella asks, incredulous.
"Because I'm a Black man going on a trip in the forest with a bunch of white girls," Chad deadpans. "I'm not taking any chances."
Isabella's brow furrows. "Violet is actually Black," she points out.
Sienna jumps in, clearly unsettled by this information. "Wait, so we're just gonna gloss over the fact that Chad owns an AK-47? I feel like that should be a bigger deal."
Chad just grins. "That's not even half of it. If you go to me and Blake's dorm room, there's a whole arsenal on the wall."
"Wait, you're allowed to have that on campus?! I got in trouble for carrying pepper spray!" Isabella exclaims, throwing her hands up. "This school is sexist as hell."
"Well, the principal is ex-military," Blake says, as if that explains everything.
Chad adds, "Yeah, but I have to bribe HR with drugs every week so they don't snitch."
"Pause—what do you mean you're giving HR drugs?" Isabella questions, eyes wide.
"Nothing. Don't worry about it," Chad brushes her off.
Isabella isn't buying it, but she lets it slide. "Fine, but bring me some daggers, okay?"
"You know how to use them?" Chad asks, a curious glint in his eye.
"Of course I do, you imbecile!" Isabella snaps back. "Anyway, let's call the others, make sure they're in, and tell them to pack for at least a month. I'll do laundry if needed."
Sienna, overhearing the conversation, decides to call Violet while Isabella and Chad walk off to contact Jamal and Jeremy. Chad pulls out his phone and FaceTimes a contact labeled 'Throat Goat.'
Isabella raises an eyebrow at the contact name. Before she can say anything, the call connects. "What's good, baby daddy?" a voice on the other end exclaims.
Chad laughs. "Jeremy, cut that gay shit out!" he says, but there's no malice in his tone.
Isabella is about to ask about the contact name when Chad quickly covers her mouth. "Anyway, Jeremy, do you have any plans this summer?" Chad asks.
