Adria's pov:

Today is a typical Tuesday. Tuesdays are nice days, in my opinion. Just like any other Tuesday I wake up at 7 o' clock, get dressed in an outfit that's a bit too baggy for me, I eat toast with jam, get on the bus at 7.40 and arrive at school at 8. This Tuesday feels a bit different though, like something might happen, but I guess I'll have to make it through today to see if my gut feeling is right.
"Adriiii!!", I hear someone screaming behind me. I turn around and it's Natasha, my best friend since preschool. "Good morning Natie!!", I say, smiling.
"You won't believe who I saw on the bus this morning!!", she exclaims excitedly. I already know who it is, since she says this every morning, but I act surprised anyways.
"Oooh who did you see?"
"I saw Conner!! He looked so good today! He was wearing this..."
Natasha keeps talking about Connor, her crush since 7th grade. It's been 3 years now, but she is still just as obsessed as she was then. Connor isn't my type. He's tall, has blonde hair with a buzz cut, and wears glasses with baggy jeans. He is athletic, but not very muscular. He seems like a nice guy, but I don't want him. I don't want any guy if I'm honest. I guess I could kiss a guy if I have to, but it wouldn't be for any personal benefit.
"Are you listening to me? Adria?"
I snap back into reality. "Sorry Natasha, I'm stressed for my biology test, and I was thinking about that", I say quickly
"Oh it's okay! You'll do great on your test, I believe in you", she says with a smile. I'm very lucky to have her. She reminds me a bit of a mixture between apple jack and pinkie pie. She's a very energetic, easy going and optimistic person, and loves working with her hands. She's a very talented baker, and often makes sweet treats for me and our friend group. We met when we were kids, and stayed close ever since. She helped me with a lot, and I'm very grateful for her. We talk for a bit longer, until the bell rings and we both head to class. I enter the classroom and sit down at my desk. I have art class, which is lovely to start the day. I grab the painting I was working on the week before, some oil paints, and begin painting again. It's flowers - blanket flowers, to be specific. I put in my earbuds and put on Pink Triangle by Weezer. I get so invested in my painting, that when I feel a tap on my shoulder I almost jump back.
"Excuse me, do you know where to find the canvases? I'm new here"
It's a girl. A very, very pretty girl. Her hair is dirty blonde, and she's wearing a tight red top, and black pants. Her eyes are brown, they remind me of garnet gemstones.
"T-they're in the closet next to the door", I say, stumbling over my words a bit.
"Thank you! By the way, I'm Julie, nice to meet you!"
"I'm Adria, nice meeting you too!"
Julie. Her name sends butterflies to my stomach. I watch her walk away, and try focussing on my painting again. With each brush stroke I remember something about the 2 seconds we spoke. I remember her cute freckles, the little mole right above her lip, the clumpy mascara that somehow still looked so good, her button nose,...
Class ends, and I got nothing done. I was too distracted looking at Julie.
I take a deep breath and walk over to her. "Hey Julie! I was wondering if you'd want to eat lunch with me and my friends today?"
"Oh I'd love that!", she replies with a big grin on her face. "I haven't really met anyone else yet, so it'd be nice to meet them"
"Great! Do you know where the cafeteria is?"
"Yeah, I walked past it this morning. I'll meet you there at 12!"
We say our goodbyes to each other and walk away to our next classes.
This girl is what is special about today, I just know it.
