The three very different, almost strangers, were on their way to the docks of Mare. All of them carrying various bags and chatting animatedly. They looked like first-time adventurers, which they were.
"No! Green magick is fairly simple! There needs not to be that much science behind it! It's called intent, if you really want to do it, you will! I can't speak for any other kind of magick, though." The Mage argued.
The Alchemist shook his head, his fluffy brown hair moving a bit, "No, everything has science behind it. Science isn't just fancy chemicals and biology and studying creatures. It's just a study of why things are done."
The Mage nodded, "I guess that's true, but most people wouldn't say that science and magick are the same, at all."
"True but-" The Alchemist started/
The Inventor snorted at the both of them, "I personally think it's numbers. Always trust the numbers. Numbers are in everything, how many ingredients do you need for a potion, how many milligrams of Sodium Chloride do you need to make a chemical?"
"Hmm, true." Hummed The Mage, "Let's just say we're all right in our own way."
The other two agreed, dropping the subject right as they reached the docks. The Inventor checked her watch and then the tickets.
"The ship should be here in seven minutes, give or take." She sighed, dropping her bag next to her and stretching.
The Mage plopped her stuff down and sat on the side of the docks, putting her feet in the cool blue water. It was a pretty hot day for Mare, it was usually cooler and more windy since it was a seaside town. But for some reason the sun decided to beat down on the world today.
"Is that sanitary?" Called a cool, almost amused voice, The Mage's head snapped up and an excited smile grew on her face as she got up to hug her. The Vampire smiled slightly, wrapping one large arm around The Mage.
"What're you doing here!?" The Mage squealed, eyes wide and excited, almost like a child.
"I'm looking for the famed Alchemist of Scientia," She admitted, "I'm getting tired of not being able to see my own face."
The Mage nodded. She knew all about The Vampire's plight. She even tried to help her with magick, but it turns out green magick isn't very helpful for giving someone's face back.
The Alchemist stepped forward, "Well lucky for you, I'm here," He said, adjusting his goggles. "Now what's this about not being able to see your own face?"
She raised a brow, looking him up and down. "I expected you to be old." She said bluntly, pulling an uncontrolled laugh from The Inventor.
The Alchemist smiles, "I don't get that as much as you think I would," He admitted, still studying her curiously. "I'm a vampire." She provided, realizing she forgot to answer his question.
He hummed, "I see. Well, once we get on this ship, I'll pull everything out that we need to try and fix this. If it's okay with the captain, of course.
The Vampire looked delighted and nodded, "Sounds like a plan and a half."
The Mage clapped excitedly, she really wanted her friend to get the help she's been asking for.
"Um, excuse me?" A timid voice called. Everyone turned around to see an ethereal being, a girl with long silver twists, wearing a simple blue silk dress and a cloak. "Is this the ship heading for Tenebris?"
The Alchemist was at a loss for words at the moment, so The Inventor spoke up, "Yeah it is! It should be here in...four minutes."
She nodded, staying where she was. "Okay, thank you." She said kindly
