Julia woke up to the sun bleeding through her windows. She rolled over to check the clock and it read 8:34.

She had 2 hours till She was supposed to be at work but She still decided to get up. She made her bed before heading to the bathroom to wash her face.

As she walked downstairs she contemplated what she wanted to eat before leaving. She settled on a simple smoothie.

After she finished making her smoothie she began putting away all the ingredients. Catching herself organizing her kitchen the way she would with Jimmy. She stopped herself and sighed, before pushing over the bags and cans of food, making it as messy as possible.

She smiled to herself realizing she could truly live on her own, no one was telling her what to do anymore. It seemed like such a simple thing, but to her it meant the world.

She headed back upstairs, starting to get ready for her shift. Putting on a simple dark green tee shirt and a pair of jeans before throwing her hair into a low ponytail.

As she walked downstairs she grabbed her shoes and her purse and headed out the door.

She paused seeing a large man with long black hair in her neighbors driveway, he seemed to be working on some kind of mutant looking car. His black hair was falling onto his face slightly and he brushed it back with one of his large hands.

He was easily the most beautiful man She had ever seen.

Julia stood there for far too long before realizing how creepy She would seem if he caught her staring, She began walking down her walkway towards the sidewalk, She didn't own a car yet but she hoped to be getting one soon so in the meantime She walked to work.

It was only about a half hour walk and She enjoyed the scenery. But during the night shifts it could get a little dangerous so she would rather have a car.

As She walked by the handsome neighbor he lifted his head from the car and glanced at her.

"Good morning" he bellowed out.

She smiled before responding "Good morning"

"You must be the new neighbor, right?" He stood and walked to her, wiping his hand on his black jeans before offering it to her. "I'm Peter."

She took his hand and shook it lightly, his hand completely swallowed hers and her voice was a little uneven when she replied.

"That would be me. I'm Julia." She looked down, his green eyes piercing into her

"Where ya headed?" He said with a deep Brooklyn accent.

"Oh I'm just headed to work, my shift starts soon so I should probably get going" she said turning from him.

"Are you walking there?" He said, his eyebrows creasing.

"Oh yeah, I haven't had time to buy a car yet so..."

"Nonsense, I'll drive yah." He waved her off and motioned her to his regular, non-modified car. "Hope in."

"Oh, I wouldn't want to be an inconvenience. I'm fine with walking really." She said.

"I couldn't let a pretty girl like you roam Brooklyn by herself," he said opening the passengers door for her. "If anything you'd be helping me keep my conscious clear."

She felt her cheeks heat at the compliment and she nodded softly before walking over to him and sliding into the car.

He closed her door and walked around to the drivers side and hoping in.

"Where to?" He turned to her.

"Oh, um, Brooklyn blooms. The little flower shop."

He nodded before starting the car and driving down the road.
