The human brain is perhaps the most dangerous thing this world has to offer.
You think you have full control over your brain, thoughts and actions. But what if someone else is pulling the strings? What if you are just a puppet guided by your stupid subconscious? What if everything you believed in, is a lie? What if others are just pretending? What if you don't actually know them?

What do you do when your life is torn to pieces thousands of times, and you are told to put it back together again? What if you are actually wandering aimlessly through this world? Everything you have lost and will lose is for nothing?

Sometimes we make devastating decisions. Decisions that could even lead to death.

In life, you always grow. But what should you do if you are exposed to situations for which you are far too immature? Things that you are not capable of dealing with? Tough luck.

One lives a wonderful life and the greatest adventure of his day is to have mocked a muggle. And some? Some have to die painfully. Some have to lose everything in order to give something to others.
For the greater good, they say.

That's what makes you a hero! They would say.

Your sacrifice spared people!

But this whole hero thing is actually just about paying for other people's mistakes and setting them straight again.

Because you can't do it yourself and you might be a damn old man who would rather offer you lemon drops than give you a solution to your problems.
The most important thing is that you live up to expectations.
You are not allowed to decide for yourself, everything is divided into good and bad.
Nobody looks for your motives, no, only for your mistakes.
If you have to give up things you want just to be seen as good, is this whole good-person thing not bad then? Someone always gets hurt.

Other people who have made mistakes come up with the "I've changed" gimmick.
People don't change, they just reveal who they really are.
So when a nice, charming boy suddenly becomes a cold murderer, you have to realize that you were damn stupid. Because something is wrong. Evil is slumbering inside most people from the very beginning. But you can decide against it. Nothing like that, it's my fate and all that rubbish. The only fate that every person has to suffer is death. Sooner or later it comes. You can't delay it forever. I delayed it, unintentionally.
He didn't just want to delay it, he wanted to defeat it completely. Stupid, considering that he hadn't even reached the normal life expectancy of a wizard.

You shouldn't let emotions guide you either. You can be driven far by your hatred. Then, when you realize that your hatred serves no purpose, you have no goal and have simply run aimlessly in the wrong direction.
Regret is good. If you hurt someone, you should regret it.
If you split your damn soul, it would be more than appropriate to regret it.
Because what you face afterwards is more than just cruel.

Power is cruel.
Power is only right in the hands of those who are not searching for it. Those who do, usually have no good intentions or are so obsessed with it, that it becomes their priority.

Killing is cruel.
You take another person's life, you end a journey of someone who may have been far from their destination. And the person who committed the murder is allowed to live? You not only harm the person you killed, you also harm relatives who will suffer a great loss.
A loss that can never be undone.
This murder could affect the whole life of this person.

But above all, you harm yourself. Without remorse, you not only split your soul, no, you usually destroy it at the same time. Many people think that killing is easy. Just quick, and one less insignificant life in the world. But actually doing so, is something else.

Sometimes there are different types of antagonists. The known antagonist and the hidden one. The one who pulls the strings behind everything or harms people without their knowledge.

You could be an antagonist yourself.
In someones life you definitely are.
Someone has been harmed thanks to you which cannot be undone.

It just depends on who is telling the story.

And here I'm the one telling it.
Not him.

And for that we will start where we usually start with a story.
At the beginning.

My story begins at midnight in a wizard's suburb.
