Heart to Heart

By the next morning, things were finally looking up for Greninja. After steadily having her Wigglytuff use Heal Pulse on him since he arrived here, Nurse Joy confirmed that the hole in his chest was finally gone. All that was left was for him to wake up.

Once Charizard heard the news, he felt as if another weight on his heart was lifted. Greninja was going to be okay.

But besides that, there was something else on the dragon's mind for today. Finally opening up to the rest of the group.

Ever since he'd met Alain, he'd always been a closed off individual who wanted to become strong. To be strong enough to protect those you cared about, you needed to train. To train to become that strong, you need to be alone to focus. If that meant he didn't have a lot of friends, then so be it.

Then he met Greninja.

Not only was the ninja frog able to become as strong as he was in way less time, but he had a healthy social life on top of that. He was friends with, or at least talked to, every Pokémon in the group he traveled with. Not to mention he was in a relationship.

He proved to Charizard that it was possible. He could balance his training with socializing with others.

There was just one catch. Besides Greninja, Braixen, and Alain, he HAD no other friends. Hell, not even the other Pokémon on his own team. They were more so teammates rather than friends.

Charizard sighed. He needed help.

An hour later, Charizard was resting in a secluded area of the Pokémon Center backyard. He was watching as the other Pokémon were talking with each other, playing, or arguing (in Chespin and Pancham's case).

The dragon sighed before readjusting himself. He saw Dedenne walking around on her own, before the small mouse noticed him looking at her. She smiled and waved at him. Charizard just snorted, small puffs of smoke coming out his nostrils. Dedenne jolted upright as she took off somewhere else.

Charizard huffed before closing his eyes. "Ugh... what am I doing wrong?"

"You're acting like a big, scary dragon. That's what's wrong."

Charizard's eyes shot open as he raised his head to see who thought it'd be a good idea to bother him while he was trying to nap. They were about to see how fun getting a searing hot Flamethrower to the face was.

"On your back."

A high pitched, feminine voice. The dragon already had an idea who was there.

Charizard looked over his shoulder to his back, only to see Sylveon standing on top of him.

"Tch, how long have you been on top of there?"

The Fairy-Type eeveelution quietly giggled. "Long enough. I'm surprised you hadn't noticed me jump up here a bit ago." She then gracefully jumped down to the grass below, not making a sound as she landed.

"Yeah, real big surprise, Twinkle Toes," Charizard grumbled. "Just tell me what you're doing here."

Sylveon sat down in front of the dragon. "I just want to talk for a little bit. Braixen tells me you have trouble talking to others."

The dragon's eyes widened slightly. Braixen told her. Of COURSE she told her. He wanted to be mad, but... he wasn't. He was more so annoyed that she didn't ask him about this first.

He wasn't mad. Normally he'd be ticked off if someone tried to get him help he didn't want or need. But now? He was just annoyed. What was happening to him?
