In the gym, I'm listening to the ebook that Lucy has put together for me. Maybe it was a year ago she did it but, something about her voice, it just sticks. That Lucy Chen. Her beautiful face. That smile. Those chocolate brown eyes. Ugh, what am I saying. I am her superior officer. I can't just have feelings for her. There's too much at stake. Especially for Luce...
For years, I have wanted that girl since the day we met. Since the day she was assigned as my rookie. MY boot. I'm gonna figure a way out to make that girl mine one day.
"Tim," Lucy chirps. "Um, earth to Bradford?"
I look at her and just stare blank for a second. God she rocks those short sleeves. I take out my headphones. "Luce- Chen?" I stutter. "Can I help you." Oh my god why can't I shut up.
"Been looking for you." Lucy giggled. " We need to talk."
I looked shocked. Talk? Was she gonna tell me she had feelings for me like I have for her? No impossible. She couldn't. Maybe I was getting my hopes up. There's no way Luce could love or even like me after the way I treated her as my rookie. I only went so hard on her because I knew she had potential.
"Uh.. Tim?" She looked at me confused. "Are you just gonna sit there and stare a hole through me or are you gonna respond."
Oh my god. How long have I been staring at her. "Oh- uh yea sorry. You said you wanted to talk?" I sputter.
"Yea," she says. "Can you meet me at my apartment tonight?"
Oh man. The apartment.
"Yes. I uh- I'll be there." I said.
Her apartment huh? She barely lets me come by. I really want to tell Lucy how I feel about her. I want her to know my true feelings. I can't really hold these feelings in anymore. I know I'm superior and she's only a UC but I've had these feelings for years. Tonight's the night.
I finish up my gym routine and get in the shower. Man I wish she was with me. No. Tim. Quit. I get dressed and head to Lucy's. I'm standing outside of her apartment door figuring out what to say. Okay Tim. Get your head in the game. You got this. I knock and Lucy comes to the door wearing a beautiful summerdress.
"Well hey," she smiled. "You actually showed up."
I roll my eyes at her. "Why wouldn't I?" I smiled back. "Plus I have to talk to you too."
We start sputtering words out. "I'm sorry you go" I say
"No you go"
"I have feelings for you" we both say at once.
What?. I never would've thought that Lucy had feelings for me.
    To be frank, this is the best thing that could've ever happened to. Now how do I make this work being in her direct chain of command? I'm going to have to move stations or departments.
