It was your birthday. It was nearly 8pm and what were you doing? You were sat curled up on your sofa alone, watching some crappy tv show. He promised he'd be home by 5 at the latest but 3 hours later and he still wasn't back. That was it with Hoseok, the rules didn't seem to apply to him and even though it was your birthday it seemed as though he thought it was perfectly okay to break his promise without even texting or calling. It got to 9:00pm and he still wasn't back, so you decided to contact him. You texted him. No reply. You called him. No reply.
You couldn't help it and you felt the tears pricking at the corners of your eyes. Hoseok would never have missed your birthday before, but recently he was coming home later and later and you were getting fed up, and not to mention upset. You were getting paranoid that maybe it was your fault. Maybe he didn't like you anymore, or maybe he had found someone else, or he just didn't like being around you.
As all these thoughts swirled around your head, tormenting you, the door swung open with a loud bang. Despite the noise you kept your head down not wanting to look at him, partly out of anger, but partly because you wanted to quickly wipe the corners of your eyes to hide the fact that you had let a few tears slide.
Hoseok put most of his things down and walked to the sofa where you were sat. He crouched down in front of you with a goofy grin. What the hell does he think he's smiling about?!
"Jagi, I'm home" he sang. Not even an apology? You were really frustrated now and couldn't help but give a sarcastic reply.
"Yes I can see that" was all you said.
J-Hope seemed a little taken aback by your cold tone. "Jagi?" he said, the grin fading from his face.
'That's it. Time to let it all go.' You thought. "Hoseok, it's 9:15! You said you would be home 4 hours ago! You keep doing this, and now you do it on my birthday? Realistically I would've like to spend at least a little more than 2 and a half hours with my boyfriend on my birthday, but no, I guess that's not okay with you is it." You really did let it go and Hoseok looked down out of shame.
"Jagi, I'm sorry. I know I'm late. I just ran over time a bit with my schedule doing rehearsals, but I promise to make it up to you." At Hoseok's sincere words you softened up a little, but still the anger lingered and you gave no reply.
"Here. I knew you'd be mad, so I bought you this to cheer you up." Hoseok said, reaching in a bag that was next to him on the floor. You raised your eyebrows in curiosity, but grinned when you saw what he was pulling out. It was a soft toy, but not just any old soft toy. It was your favourite My Little Pony. The blue one with the rainbow hair. You kept seeing it an a lot of shops recently but never bought it, thinking that it would look a bit weird, someone over the age of 18 buying a My Little Pony toy. You just imagined Hoseok having to buy it in a shop and burst out laughing.
"You like it?" He asked, the grin returning to his face. You nodded. "Hoseok, I love it!" You cried, cuddling it tight as Hoseok placed the toy on your lap.
"Oh and there's one more thing" Hoseok said, opening the drawer in the footstool. He pulled out a small gift bag he must have hidden in there sometime during the week. He handed the bag to you and you opened it and they were beautiful. Two bead bracelets sat next to eachother in the back, one blue and one cream, and both of them had two beads that stood out. One was made of diamond and sparkled (oooh sparklyy) and the others, one had your initials and the other had Hoseok's initial's on it.
"One for you, and one for me, so everyone knows you're mine" Hoseok grinned. He carefully picked up the blue one with his initials on it and took your wrist, gently sliding it on, then took the other one and slid it onto his wrist.
